LGB beat F3 to qualify for major

LGB eSports have qualified for ESL One Katowice following a 16-11 victory over FlipSid3 Tactics on de_inferno.

FlipSid3 got off to a rampant start and entered the A in the pistol round fairly easily after buying three smokes and managed to hold the site down successfully – thanks in no small part to Vadim "⁠DavCost⁠" Vasilyev’s four kills in the pit. LGB went for a triple UMP setup in the first eco round and caught FlipSid3’s players off-guard as they were attempting a mid-B split.

The following rounds went back and forth as neither side were able to stamp their authority on the game. It was only when the score was 5-5 that one side, LGB, was able to distance itself from the other, as the Norwegians took three rounds in a row, but then FlipSid3 won the final two rounds to close the half at 7-8.

Polly turned in a great performance

In the second half, LGB extended their lead after winning the pistol round following a B push, but the Norwegian team were surprised on the eco in the following round, which allowed FlipSid3 to turn the score around.

But just like in the first half, the teams were struggling to win consecutive rounds, so it was with little surprise that LGB quickly got back into the game and levelled the score on 11 rounds. At this point, the Norwegians stepped it up a notch and gained control of the match as they won the following five rounds, this way sending FlipSid3 to the Lower Bracket.

don't get ahead of yourself bro. playing lc and lgb has always been very easy for fnatic because some of the players are friends in private and have too good a read on each other.

How come it doesn't work the other way around then? Naah fnatic just better.

I would actually find it really cool if lgb won a major. And no I wouldn't mind them beating fnatic. That would be a major upset but probably also a very good game. And I watch cs for the entertainment and thrill of it, not so much for fanboism and nationalistic pride.

A shame you can get to a tournament by only playing inferno, but damn they play it well. jkaem is a beast and getting in Polly was really the right thing to do, hardly missing a shot with that awp even in tight spaces.

Inferno is not even a very good map for them, lol. They're better on mirage, cache, maybe even dust2 and overpass is good.

Well three of these players were in LC which had inferno as their best map, so its not like its bad for them really.

I don't believe it was the hardest. The starting four tomorrow seems to be the hardest, though the first one today was also very hard since Titan was clearly the best team on paper before this qualifier. It was more a group were every team had their chance, which might be the same about tomorrows late four.
