Delpan steps in for NiP

Ninjas in Pyjamas have announced that they will use Marcus "Delpan" Larsson as a stand-in in Sunday's StarSeries matches against HellRaisers and EnVyUs.

The Swedish giants are currently trialing potential replacements for Mikail "⁠Maikelele⁠" Bill, who, according to the team, still lacks the experience to thrive on an international level despite being named the MVP of ASUS ROG Winter last month.

With Maikelele attending the Nordic Masters with Orbit as a stand-in, NiP had to find a new fifth player for Sunday's double StarSeries header against HellRaisers and EnVyUs.

Delpan will act as stand-in for NiP

Marcus "⁠Delpan⁠" Larsson has been out of action since the disbandment of his Property team in the aftermath of Joel "⁠emilio⁠" Mako's VAC ban half way through a fragbite Masters match.

In NiP, the Swedish AWPer will reunite with former SK Gaming team-mates Patrik "⁠f0rest⁠" Lindberg and Christopher "⁠GeT_RiGhT⁠" Alesund, as well as with ex-fnatic team-mate Richard "⁠Xizt⁠" Landström.

NiP will feature the following line-up in Sunday's matches:

well I have to admit that Delpan played well in these past two matches mostly.. but still to say what you said is just ignorant. Delpan has had like 1 good match in his entire cs:go career against a tier1 team if even that, and just a few against tier2 teams if even that aswell.. unlike maikelele/eksem who has consistently performed well against any team or any opposing awper. this is not 1.6, delpan was a monster back in the day but he just hasnt been above average until now. have you seen him play before these nip trials? he was absolutely horrible(aka dogshit). he looks good now and I am positively surprised. hope he does good and we see even stronger nip.

Not really.. He was #1 in his team and he was the only one to play well against top tier teams. He was a top tier awper in 1.6 and if he joins a bigger team (such as nip) he could become very good in CS:GO. You gotta see the potential instead of saying he sucks because he barely had any chances to prove himself.

There was a point where Delpan was really good in CSGO, back when he was in the same team as Maikalele in SK/ESG! and was main awp for the team. Then after the notorious match against dAT team where it was found he didn't turn on wire(ESL anticheat), a spotlight was on him where alot of people accused him of cheating.... his skill suddenly took a nosedive. Also, a totally unrelated story i would like to tell. There was a point where Flusha was really consistent and fragged very well, doing many good clutches and having amazing game sense. Yeah. I'd say, before Maikelele joined NiP, he was compareable to Delpan. Delpan hasn't had any chance to prove himself on lan yet. If NiP chooses Delpan, I won't be dissapointed unless they don't go through quarter/semi finals in Katowice and ends up in the top 5.

Having a good team isn't about everyone liking each other. I think the best teams are made up of huge egos. Having said that, this is so messed up. I cannot believe they are doing this to him publicly. I have a feeling someone's huge ego got bruised behind the scenes and Maik is paying the price publicly. I say that because his performance has been really good since he started playing with them. Who gets MVP then "Were trying out others", within 2 weeks? Delpan havnt got a good team to improve hes skill in cs go, in most matches he has topfragging the csgo scen. 1.6, when he played for mym fnatic etc he didnt had the best time becouse he didnt find a good team (still topfragging) when he was moved to SK-gaming he dominated the 1.6 scen! IF he gets the same momentum and the same kinda team (forest/gtr/delpan wish is a really good combinaion even since 1.6) he could possible dominate the csgo scen aswell.

The thing about Delpan is just that he has proven himself as one of the 1.6 gods. At one point he was on fnatic and they won championships, then he moved to SK and they won championships. He just seems to give teams the extra % they need to come over the top as as an elite awper. So he has been there before, against the toughest competition in the world in 1.6 and he is still young so it is possible for him to reach that level and go even further beyond if he really want to. I don't really know Maikelele or Delpan on a personal level. So I don't know what they bring to the team personality wise. But playing wise. Delpan just has proven something Maikelele hasn't. So I understand that they want to try with Delpan. Because if he can hit that level as he did in 1.6. Definitely not many people can reach him as an awper.

Ooolds news..i knew this already before they went out official with it, just as i wrote 3 days ago..it will be Delpan 100% sure. Saw him on the stream owning JW,Olof and Flusha with the awp at the same time and after that no team will turn him down.

BS They question Maikelele's performance, but they didnt even mention Fifflaren's performance when he was in the team. Double Morale at its finest.

fifflaren was a good igl in sauce ,he helped xizt with strats & he has a great social skills..maybe that translates well in-game..communication plays a big part too much is too bad not enough is horrible when players change, a gap has to be filled sometimes ur ex-player was actually the one that always founded lil ideas mid round to help people as in "ill pop flash u go there." "ill boost u over the smoke" or pop a shot fall back while ur teammate is somewhere close to lure people.while the next player can do the same he's not as used to it so in situations he doesnt utilize his tm8 he solo's it.
