mousesports pick up NiKo

mousesports have confirmed that Nikola "NiKo" Kovač has been added to their CS:GO team.

mouz had been on the lookout for a new player since the departure of Michele "⁠zonixx⁠" Köhler in the wake of the team's disappointing campaign at the offline qualifier for ESL One Katowice earlier in the month.

After beating KaBuM in the opening round, the German team were sent to the Lower Bracket by Cloud9 before being defeated by 3DMAX.

NiKo officially joins mouz

Nikola "⁠NiKo⁠" Kovač, who is widely regarded as one of the top talents in the Balkan scene, has now agreed a permanent move to mouz after playing for the team as a stand-in in recent matches.

The addition of the former iNation and GamePub talent means that mouz will once again communicate in English ingame - which had been the case when Aleksi "⁠allu⁠" Jalli was part of the team.

mouz still have a four-man squad, following Tobias "⁠Troubley⁠" Tabbert's move to PENTA Sports, with Chris "⁠chrisJ⁠" de Jong's side reported to be torn between Johannes "⁠tabseN⁠" Wodarz and Marcus "⁠J0hnny⁠" Gabriel.

With NiKo's addition, mouz currently have:

gob b is back, as good as ever. do you even watch counter strike? I have high hopes for this team now with niko. shame they couldn't make it to katowice, but maybe that was what they needed to make changes. PS: danish niko is officially now a no-namer, as nikolinho now seems to just use "niko"

You have to distinguish news related to a given organization, in this case mousesports and that is the reason as stated in #261 that the news features a German flag, and teams; fnatic features a Swedish flag due their lineup being Swedish and dignitas a Danish one for theirs to be Danish. Just like mousesports features a German one as a team due to most of their lineup, despite some of the player being featured with their "home/origin" country flag, consisting of German citizens.

ChrisJ and Nikolinho in one team, great to see as they are some of my favourite players. Gob B is ok as an IGL, but Legija is too weak, I'm afraid. Even with Tabsen or Johnny, they still won't make the cut for the top-10. If only Troubley could have stayed, great player, then combined with Niko + ChrisJ would make a possible contender.

He's been gone for like 3 months....

Finally he's on a relevant team and will play against the world's best more often. His stats (both 1.6 and GO) always impressed me, no matter how mad his teammates were or how easy his team was stomped, he always shine. I see him as similar as foxj and oskar, guys that are also waaaaay above of their countrymen.
