ESEA announce S18 prize distribution

ESEA have announced the breakdown of prize money for Season 18, with a total of $204,000 going out across all divisions.

Season 18 of ESEA will feature a total of $204,000 of prize money for CS:GO and TF2, with CS:GO receiving the vast majority at $186,000.

As previously reported, the top three prizes for the currently completed Invite division were nearly tripled, and a total of $144,000 will be up for grabs when the top European and North American teams converge in Dallas between April 17-19.

Additionally, all eight qualified teams receive a minimum of $4,000 in travel support which should ensure that all teams from Europe will certainly be present for the offline finals.

ESEA S18 will have the most prize money on record for the league

Of note is that the Premier division prize pot has also been doubled to $12,000 in order to make the division below Invite more illustrious for aspiring teams.

The remainder of the Season 18 prize pool distribution is as follows:

Global Invite NA Premier EU/NA Main EU/NA Intermediate
1. $70,000 1. $6,000 1. $2,000 1. $1,300
2. $25,000 2. $4,000 2. $1,400 2. $850
3. $15,000 3-4. $1,000 3-4. $850 3-4. $525
4. $10,000 - - 5-8. $200

7-8. - $5,000 - - -
EU/NA/BR Open AP/AU Open

2. $650 2. $400
3-4. $400 3-4. $225
5-6. $175 5-6. $150

Aside from representing a marked increase on all fronts in terms of prize money, this is also the first time that the Brazilian, Australian and Asia-Pacific regions will be able to earn prize money through their respective open leagues.

Not worth putting in the story per se, but interesting to note that 7-8th place at this season's global invite finals will get nearly the same amount that 2nd place received in Season 17 hltv.org/news/13147-esea-s17-with-78000-..

True story..quite a lot of money in CS:GO at this point. I wish there were less online leagues and cups but more 'majors' like this or rather bigger tournaments with offline qualifiers and all the good stuff we had back then.

Pretty impressive prize purse for the invite division. Maybe the biggest one after the majors? It's not the kind of thing I follow closely, but I doubt I've seen better than 70,000$ for first place other than for majors.

ESL has announced their own $250.000 tournament without Valve support a few weeks ago.

The $250.000 are sponsored by ESL, not Valve.

It waw announced already that this pricepool does not come from Valve. If this website doesn't help you I'd suggest googling it yourself.

Why the SA scene is not on the global invite, that's sad. i'll be nice to see a brazilian team or (why not) a jajaja team. Even why SA > NA scene.

Nice prize ammount... but i didn't like the share. $70k 1st and $25k 2nd? This gap is so big! I mean, that is almost 1/3 from the 1st to 2nd. I guess they just put the higher ammount that they could for 1st to people see and say that is a very big tournament and things like that

i have to say that in the USA if you're 1st or 2nd in premier you get almost the same amount of money as an invite US team... cuz they usually wont get over 5th place xD
