NiP see off Keyd Stars

Ninjas in Pyjamas are through to the Upper Bracket final of their ESL One Katowice group following a 16-9 victory against Keyd Stars on de_inferno.

Prior to the event, Gabriel "⁠FalleN⁠" Toledo had told HLTV.org that he believed the time had come for his team to beat NiP on LAN, but the Brazilian side gave a pale account of themselves in the early stages of the match, easily losing control of the B bombsite in the pistol round, in which Patrik "⁠f0rest⁠" Lindberg picked up three kills.

A double kill from Fernando "⁠fer⁠" Alvarenga in the gun round put Keyd Stars on the verge of winning their first round of the match, but the former KaBuM team managed to waste a 4-on-2 man advantage, which broke their economy.

NiP went on to take the score to 5-0, and it was only at this point that Keyd Stars finally managed to claim a round, in no small part because of FalleN’s triple kill in B.

However, the Swedish team quickly regained control of the match as the Brazilians were once again unable to close out a round while having the man advantage. The rest of the first half followed the same trend, with NiP eventually securing a commanding 13-2 lead as they switched to the CT side.

Keyd Stars got off on the wrong foot in Katowice

In the second half, Keyd Stars claimed bragging rights first after winning the pistol round thanks to a triple kill from FalleN, and they were able to keep up their momentum during the first gun rounds.

But NiP never really lost their foot in the match and little by little they started picking up rounds before eventually sealing a 16-9 victory that takes them through to the Upper Bracket final of the group.

I mean 16-9 It's a pretty nice score against NIP, but they were obvsly nervous as you could see zqk missing important shots and giving rounds away

many rounds gains posted outside, NiP is far superior to Keyd, but when luck is on the side of the best team, everything becomes impossible, ZQK missed many shots, Fallen play alone, Steel / Boltz not committed, Fer remains immature and finding you can always move forward
