Wildcarded teams for DH Summer

DreamHack have announced the wildcards handed out for selected teams attending the WGT tournament at DreamHack Summer.

Just like we saw at DreamHack Winter last year and even at DreamHack Skellefteå, selected teams will be receiving a wildcard for the 100.000 SEK WGT tournament. DreamHack Summer will be more than just the ordinary WGT tournament with 100.000 SEK up for grabs. Swedish national ESWC finals will also be played at DreamHack summer, determining who’s going to San Jose in August to represent Sweden at the ESWC Grand Finals.

The wildcards for the WGT tournament will work out as previous. The teams receiving a wildcard will advance directly to the brackets and will be skipping the preliminary-groupstage and won’t need to attend the BYOC LAN. Teams no receiving wildcards will have the opportunity to qualify from the BYOC LAN, how many spots are up for grabs is yet not announced.

Furthermore will the teams qualifying from the DreamHack qualifiers in Copenhagen, Oslo, Helsinki and Stockholm also be going directly to the brackets and skipping the preliminary-groupstage. DreamHack Summer will be opening its doors on the 14th of June and won’t close them again until the 17th.
