kane in, Sally out in Virtus.pro
Virtus.pro has been a dominating power in Russia for a long time, but the roster sees changes after a disappointing first quarter of 2008.
Early 2008 started just fine for the Russian squad, when they qualified for the Extreme Masters II Finals, the play did however not live up to the high expectations. The team only managed to secure a 7-8th place and could not advance to the playoffs.
KODE5 was held on own solid ground and the scene was set for Virtus.pro to deliver what the Russian fans demanded, a win. The team lacked unfortunately the quality to take out other dominating names such as fnatic and Team EG. Not advancing to the playoffs made Virtus.pro end up on the 9-12th place.
Recently the team had a chance to clean up the messy results, when attending ASUS Spring. Yet again Virtus.pro under-performed and was forced to pack their bags and go home early when not advancing from the group stage.
These series of bad results has lead to the team parting ways with Viktor "Sally" Filimonchenko. Sally will be replaced by Mykhailo "kane" Blagin. The addition of kane brings the count of Ukrainians in Virtus.pro up to a total of three. kane have been seen playing with the Ukrainian team pro100, but will from now on be the new fifth in Virtus.pro.
Current roster changes bring Virtus.pro to following five:
kane will have his debut with Virtus.pro, when playing fnatic in a showmatch on Friday in Moscow, Russia.Alexey "LeX" Kolesnikov
Roman "ROMJkE" Makarov
Ioan "Edward" Sukhariev
Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko
