Maikelele joins LGB

LGB eSports have announced that Mikail "Maikelele" Bill has joined the team.

The moves comes in the aftermath of LGB's group stage exit at ESL One Katowice, where many expected the Norwegian team to be the tournament's dark horse.

Despite getting off on the right foot in Poland, with a 16-3 thrashing of PENTA Sports, LGB were still knocked out in the group stage following a 8-16 defeat against EnVyUs and a 12-16 loss against the German side.

Mikail "⁠Maikelele⁠" Bill, who was out of action after being benched by Ninjas in Pyjamas last month, has now been given the chance to return to activity in an organisation he knows from the inside out as he was part of the Swedish LGB squad reached the top eight at DreamHack Winter 2013.


Maikelele to wear LGB's shirt again 

He will step into the shoes of Morten "⁠zEVES⁠" Vollan Christensen, whose future remains unclear for the moment.

"I’m happy to announce that I will play as a stand-in (trial) for the organisation I once represented and created," Bill said in a statement.

"LGB eSports is my roots and it will be fun to play for the amazing brand that have been one of the most known names of all names.

"I can’t say anything about the future but I can say that if this works out, I can see a great future with these guys, they have a lot of potential to become a really good team."

Ninjas in Pyjamas have not yet commented on Maikelele's situation, but a statement from LGB refers to him as a "former NiP player", which could mean that the Swedish AWPer has been released from his contract with the ESL One Katowice runners-up.

LGB eSports, who will attend Copenhagen Games next month, now have:

no, finnish has different roots from swedish and it doesn't automatically mean that if you know finish or swedish you will somewhat understand the other. Allu knowing a little sweadish is only due to the fact that thoes countries are close and people travel between them alot.

Dude, we have like 10% of Helsinki metropolia area that speak Swedish as their native tongue. We have hundreds of cities in west cost in which Swedish speaking percentage is more then 50%. In those area Finnish only helps you to communicate, to say the least. You will hear Swedish spoken in Helsinki everywhere. Its not only that we learn it in school. Having said that, 80% can pretty much say 5-10 sentences in Swedish. Rest are educated ones that only study it school could hold up decent conversation + the ones that actually speak Swedish as their first language.

can agree about ex6, but not pronax, he rarely plays 'really bad', he may be bottom fragging most of the time but it's just because everyone else on fnatic is a beast. and anyway they manage to be the best team in the world with the way pronax is performing, so there's no problem.

Interesting, I've been thinking about the possibility of maikelele joining the norwegians, but i always assumed it would be Polly who would be leaving, seeing as they are both AWP'ers, and zEVES is the igl. No. Norwegian and Swedish.. It's called Svorsk where you speak Norwegian with some Swedish words to make it more easily comprehensible. But no Norwegian ever has any issues understanding Swedish, just some other way around with Swedes understanding us. But with some svorsk it's easy. All of the Norwegian LGB guys are already playing with Swedes all day anyway, like the Fnatic guys, always speaking a mix of the two languages :)

OK, to explain why this makes sense to all: LGB and NiP is owned by the same people with mostly the same management and therefore moving Maikel over to their other team makes sense since they still have some control over him with contracts and such. This way they don't have to let go of him completely or actually release him from NiP contract if he is still bound to that one - don't know if he is anymore though. Been telling them to do this for a while, stoked to see it happen!! A bit unsure about one thing though - I think Maikel might have to move to Norway now or travel back and forth all the time if he wants to attend the national LAN league that LGB are attending (being aired on national TV). Also funny that Maikel instantly brushed this off as a possibility on stream two weeks ago, even using a mocking or ridiculuing tone in replying to my question :DD Someone hook him up with some Norwegian pussy so he wants to stay please.

Centryz couldn't join inititally from what I understand because of some serious beef with Zeves. But he's gone now anyway. Maikelele will be 50/50 awp/rifle like olofmeister, and Polly will be main awp. And what's weird with a Swede with 4 Norwegians? That's like a British guy with 4 Americans, same language, slightly different accent. And Maikelele is not under the NIP contract anymore. zEVES was the IGL but he was simply underperforming and not fragging as much as he should have been. Everyone has bad days from time to time, but he just wasn't doing enough. Some IGLs can frag like crazy, nV Happy for example. Bringing in Maikelele was a good choice.
