EnVyUs beat NiP to win Gfinity

The first map of this best-of-five series was de_inferno, where NiP got off to a great start by winning the opening five rounds. EnVyUs then embarked on a winning streak that lasted until the very last round of the half, which went NiP's way.

For most of the second half, it was neck-and-neck as neither side were able to stamp their authority on the match. After taking a 14-13 lead, NiP looked to be on the verge of winning the map, but a Tec-9 push from the Frenchmen in middle restored parity and forced the Swedish side to go on a force buy.

NiP were still able to win the round to bring the score to 15-14, when Adam "⁠friberg⁠" Friberg hammered the final nail into EnVyUs' coffin with a triple kill in B.

Both teams then moved on to de_cache, where NiP were completely slaughetered during the early stages of the game, when they found themselves down 0-10. The Swedish team still managed to respond before the break and picked up a few rounds of their own, but a 4-11 deficit meant that they had to give a much better account of themselves in the second half. 

But such plans were then thrown into chaos as Nathan "⁠NBK-⁠" Schmitt got four kills to his name in the pistol round. One round in gun play was all that NiP were able to get, as EnVyUs equalised the series thanks to an impressive 16-5 victory.

NBK turned up the heat on de_cache 

The map that followed was de_dust2, NiP's choice. But it was EnVyUs who came out the better by winning the opening three rounds of the half. The two teams then traded rounds for a while until the last third of the half, when NiP picked up two rounds in a row to bring the scoreline to 7-5.

Fabien "⁠kioShiMa⁠" Fiey then broke NiP's streak with a 1v2 clutch in A, but the Swedish team still got the last round of the half, which they closed out at 8-7.

EnVyUs won the opening three rounds of the second half, but they were forced to call a timeout soon after as NiP picked up the first gun round. Still, the Frenchmen slowly found their feet and started gaining ground on their opponents little by little until they ran out 16-11 winners.

kioShima turned in a great display on dust2 

It all came down to de_cobblestone, where NiP, who began on the offensive side of the map, picked up a narrow 8-7 lead at the end of the first half. As CT, Richard "⁠Xizt⁠" Landström's men found themselves completely helpless to stop EnVyUs' attacks, and so the French side cruised to a 16-9 win to seal a 3-1 victory in the series and get their hands on the $25,000 cheque.
