TSM top CCS Blue Group

Team SoloMid have qualified for the offline finals of the CS:GO Championship Series Kick-Off Season after topping the Blue Group with a 2-1 victory over fnatic.

Last week saw EnVyUs finish at the top of the Red Group (or Group A) following a 2-0 victory over Ninjas in Pyjamas, a result that earned the French side the very first place at the CCS offline finals, to be held at DreamHack Bucharest next month.

The first round of Blue Group matches met the expectations of most people as TSM moved past Natus Vincere and fnatic beat FlipSid3 Tactics, even though the ESL One Katowice champions, who were playing with Andreas "znajder" Lindberg as a stand-in, dropped the first map of the series.

With Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson back in the fold, fnatic were then surprised by the high level of play shown in the Upper Final by TSM, who relied on strong individual performances from René "cajunb" Borg, Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen and Nicolai "device" Reedtz.

TSM qualify for CCS finals, in Bucharest

Wednesday began with a thrilling contest between Na`Vi and fnatic in the consolidation final of the group, with the Swedish giants coming from behind to secure a 2-1 victory thanks to world-class displays from Jesper "JW" Wecksell and KRIMZ.

fnatic went on to meet TSM again in search for revenge, but the Danish team were once more the stronger of the two, this time following two 16-14 wins, first on de_inferno and then on de_cache, either side of a 16-8 victory by the Katowice champions on de_cobblestone.

Team SoloMid have thus secured a place at the CCS offline finals, which will take place under the wings of DreamHack Bucharest, from April 24-26. As for fnatic, Na`Vi and FlipSid3 Tactics, they will meet NiP, Virtus.pro and PENTA Sports in the last-chance stage, in which the last two spots at the season finals will be up for grabs.

Below you can find the Blue Group standings and the prize distribution between the teams:

1. Denmark TSM - $5,000
2. Sweden fnatic - $2,500
3. Ukraine Na`Vi - $1,000
4. Ukraine FlipSid3 Tactics

ok, fair enough. So you want a rule that states "no articles can be written about TSM unless it involves them winning a tournament"? Is that what you meant?

Not everywhere! I kinda cheered for TSM, they have so much potential, they just need a little something to be top 2 imo! They have somewhat of a struggle against NiP, but they perform well against every other top team! Gonna be interesting at the offline event!

Anyways, i was just replying to the fact that you wrote they always place good online and not at LAN. There I just wanted to correct you and say that yesterdays result is nothing they cant do on LAN and point you towards evidence of my statement in their 2-0 victory pver fnatic at MLG. I did not say anything even remotely close to what you think I said.

It was such an amazing game, really intense, close and with so many great performances both individually and as a team. That being said fnatic is still the better team, as they have better coordination as a unit and this is what TSM lacks to bring them closer to the top. fnatic beyond that just forget their retake on A strat at cache, since it rarely works for them or brings it down to a 2on2 or 1on1.

That's the thing : when it matters most they fail. It's sad though - I like TSM. That's why they never won anything big because they choke when they have to win. They had a fairly easy advance even they were up with a few rounds ad CT on nuke vs nip.

I think it was more of Get_Right and Forest going tec9 crazy in those last rounds, than it was Dig choking

Yeah, I don't wanna take away anything from nip. But I just feel TSM needs to learn to close those important games! They're a top team who can win big tournaments if they get over that hump! :)

I came here to complain, again, that HLTV is not using the Romanian flag when posting about CCS.
