dignitas' Nicolaj "Nico" Jensen talked to HLTV.org right after their 2-1 win over Natus Vincere.

dignitas were matched up to Natus Vincere in the initial round of group A as clear underdogs, but they managed to beat the odds on de_cbble and de_inferno and advanced to the first place decider.

We got a hold of Nicolaj "⁠Nico⁠" Jensen to get his point of view on the match and his insight on the latest patch, which brought many changes into the game, especially AWP's nerf and the buff of three SMGs.

We've got Peter "⁠dupreeh⁠" Rasmussen scheduled for another interview following the Danes' suprising win over Virtus.pro.

all awpers can hold angles. guardians strength was his super quick peeks and accuracy. i remember one time markleoff was watching cat from A ramp on d2 and guardian wide peeked him and killed him before he could even react. markleoff was even holding an off angle. it was insane.

He used to be one of the best when he played for Western Wolves - inactivity and general disorder within his teams took its told on his game, but he could and still can challenge the best with or without the update - and no, I am no fanboy.

Because you don't understand as you still show that you don't when writing simple as one to beat. Simple rarely uses the awp and he is beneath WE in terms of skill with it anyway, while simple also could be beaten by lower skilled awp players like cadiaN. Nico isn't far from his old level from what I have seen, not that he is better than the absolute top, but he can still challenge them.

Doesn't change the fact the skill ceiling was pushed and he became irrelevant in his return, now he has a chance to be though of as among the best again.

Beating NaVi and outfragging GuardiaN earlier today. Beating F3 with simple and WE at CPH Games last week. Hard to read from your comment if you actually know how good Nico was when he played in WW, when people had him in the top3 of awp players all the time.

Nico was an incredible player back in the day, but sorry to break it to ya buddy, this isn't 2013, and he isn't relevant anymore. One of the top 3 awp players of all time, back then, wasn't exactly a massive title considering the game was a very rifle based meta.

So why is it you think he haven't reached a somewhat respectable level again? You hardly need to be top15 on the awp list to be able to challenge the top players, they are not intouchable.

I think you greatly underestimate the skill difference between tier 1 and tier 3 players.

I think you're deluding yourself to think that because a player recides with a lower tier team he himself is of a lower caliber individually. The general problem for tier 2 and 3 compared to tier 1 is more often in the teamplay and the team itself than in the individual capabilities (though being a coordinated teamplayer also demands that). Nico is the best danish awp player and as history goes, that says alot. Lets end this discussion, we will never agree, because you clearly don't have the knowledge and experience to see the differences.

I'm not talking about the teams. I'm talking about the players. KennyS is a tier 1 player. Nico is a tier 3 player. He has done nothing since 2013 to disprove that.

No wonder he likes it. Unless you have reactions of a 100 year old woman, you'd win the awp duel 100% of the times if you are holding the angle, even vs kennyS. Even fiffy would be able to kill kennyS now that awp's skill ceiling is lowered.

Ofc you can win the battle if you're peeking. Just strafe before scoping in. You need good timing though. It's just a different playstyle now. Haters gonna hate, good players will adapt :D

the scope isn't accurate until 0.2 seconds after you've scoped. That is enough time for a player to kill you, considering the average RT for males are about .2 seconds.

You're only focussing on the CT side. The skill ceiling for the T side increased, now you truly have to be a master and have even faster reactions.
