CLG to CEVO-P grand final

CLG have advanced to the grand final of CEVO Season 6 after moving past Nihilum by a 2-0 scoreline (16-13 on de_cache and 19-16 on de_inferno).

MLG.tv's arena in Columbus, Ohio, is playing host to the offline finals of CEVO Season 6's professional division, featuring the top four sides from the regular season, who will be battling it out for their share of the $11,722 prize purse.

The semi-finals of the tournament featured an interesting clash between CLG and eLevate, who are attending the event with ex-iBP duo Spencer "Hiko" Martin and Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham as stand-ins. Following two close maps, victory ended up going the way of CLG, who relied on strong individual displays from Tarik "tarik" Celik and Stephen "reltuC" Cutler.

Nihilum Gaming, formerly known as Denial, then secured the second place in the Upper Bracket final after easing past Luminosity without too much trouble.

Both maps of the Upper Bracket final went down to the wire, especially the second one, which went to overtime, but in the end CLG ran out 2-0 victors, with tarik topping the scoreboard once again.

Haven't seen them play against eachother since before ELiGE joined Liquid. Not sure about the CLG vs C9 thing though.

If they continue this form into ESEA they could have a good chance to win (at least better than c9 does).

Have u seen their matches tho? They've been playing pretty poorly, not closing out games etc. lost a 14-2 advantage on inferno last night after winning T-pistol. OT against eLevate on D2. Showing a terrible Ct-side on Cache and D2 overall. I'd say that if they play like this at ESEA they'll lose every game they play.

The more MLG productions I see the less I like them. It's like if you could imagine the most stereotypical Americanised program ever - then you're only about 50% of way unearthing how brain numbingly bad it is.

Wouldn't call the production itself bad. I think it's just CEVO that doesn't have enough good casters or analysts that's the issue.. The stage and all that are looking solid af imo.

Yeah perhaps production was the incorrect word. Just find the whole thing tedious and an effort to watch. How that sort of style goes down so well in the states bamboozles me.

Yea, but when we had some EU casters doing the x-games everyone was praising the event, and it looked pretty much the same. But listening to Misled or Dust Mouret casting a match is a bit tedious, totally agree.

I think Misled is pretty good, and so its Launders and Helium... Its not that EU casters are that great either...

Yea, I guess people do like him, I find him a bit annoying tho. Helium and Launders i had never heard of before this event, I think they do pretty well during the rounds but lack some knowledge in between the rounds when they try to analyze shit, but they're by far my at favourites this event.

I gave up trying to explain to the other guy, he just wasn't understanding what I was getting at. I'm not too bothered about the casters/analysts. Although the cevo ones were pretty low down on the scale. If you follow a activity for a few years it should be pretty easy to chat shit about it for 15mins. I was meaning the whole shebang.. BOOM. WHOOOA. CRAZYYyyY. PRO SERIES. CHAMPIONSHIP. PHUCKET BRINGING IT TO YOU RAW!!! EMPHASISING EVERY VOWEL IN EVERY SINGLE WORD. TALKING LIKE YOU'RE STRAIGHT FROM a 48HR COKE BINGE. Ey I'm aware it's probably just personal preference, but I totally understand what my granddad (a yank) used to say when we used to ask him if he missed America. "Everything but the television programs" Crazy how it's lapped up imo!
