Maikelele confirms LGB exit

Mikail "Maikelele" Bill has confirmed that he has been released from his contract with LGB eSports.

The Swedish talent had joined LGB as a stand-in in mid-March with hopes of kick-starting his career after being benched by Ninjas in Pyjamas allegedly due to his lack of top-flight experience.

His first real test with the team came at the start of April at Copenhagen Games, where LGB ended up performing below expectations as they finished 5th-6th following defeats against Team SoloMid and FlipSid3 Tactics.

Maikelele's stint in LGB was short lived

Since the end of the event, speculation had been mounting that Mikail "⁠Maikelele⁠" Bill had been given his marching orders, with his place on the team having been taken by Preben "⁠prb⁠" Gammelsæter in recent online matches.

Maikelele has now confirmed that he has been released by LGB, citing communication difficulties as the reason his time on the Norwegian team did not live up to expectations.

I was only stand-in and yes I wanted to try it out. But it was hard with the langauge even if norwegian and swedish is similar.

LGB have yet to comment on this situation and whether prb, perhaps the most experienced player in the Norwegian scene, with previous spells in teams like MYM, 4Kings and mousesports, will be handed a long-term deal.

The Norwegian team currently have:

Yeah, Rubino and Polly speaks one of the most unique dialects in Norway, which is alot different than normal Norwegian, and Rain speaks a dialect from the west that is also alot different. Jkaem was the only one speaking classic norwegian.

I think som of the polayers are from the mid-west ish of Norway, and even Norwegians can have problems understanding the dialects in that area.

my mother is from Trondheim, and my friend is from Gothenburg, Sweden. My friend can't understand my mother unless she speaks "regular" norwegian like they do in Oslo :p Im guessing that he understands calls etc, but when for example Polly tries to explain something mid-round he doesn't understand a lot (fast, intense talking etc.)

Why "lol" when you got no clue? I don't understand some norwegian dialects, especially when they speak fast, as you pretty often do when you play CS... Reading norwegian is easy for swedes, but that doesn't help alot.

yes but the thing is that all norwegians in the cs scene also speak fluent swedish, pretty much. lgb used plenty of swedish words that are just more applicable in terms of communicating within cs, as i heard on the katowice pov's. if maikel had the capability of being a hard carry, they could just switch to swedish.

lgb played a lot with pauf and dennis,both of whom were swedes.Language was not a problem back then :).

mhm, and when they're not practicing they play a lot with people like olofmeister, krimz, pyth, devilwalk, jw, flusha, gtr and pretty much the whole swedish tier 2 scene.

I really love that you are here at HLTV communicating with us. :) Really funny how people from around the world doesn´t understand that there are a lot of norwegian dialects that can be completely different from normal norwegian, and really far away from swedish. :)

Well obviously Maikelele could learn Norwegian if he really wants to. Or just spend time and listen to the guys he will pick it up really fast in a couple of months no biggie. Kevzz, what the heck happened to LGB's CT side since Zeves left? And is there a chance he would coach the team? I like LGB and want to see the organization succeed in CS, but the team seems to have gotten worse since the change.

I agree with you. prb is a legend and i've always liked him as a player, but if he joins, the team is basically almost back to LC days. They need some fresh blood, they need a talent hungry to prove himself. Look at jkaem, he was unknown internationally but insanely talented, and they gave him a shot in LGB and he is doing great. They need a player dedicated to play all the time like the rest of the team.

i personally think he comes off like a douch who thinks he is better than he is. I imagine in a team this attitude can become distracting and irritating for other players. No such surprise that he has been called toxic by former teammates. I don't know him in person so of course I could be wrong.

Weak hearted. The language might be a bit "hard", but at CPH Games he walked around for himself and didn't even try to use the time with the team. Doing so would have increased his understanding of their language and helped the team chemistry. Simply just lack of commitment from him.
