NiP edge out Virtus.pro

Ninjas in Pyjamas have progressed to the grand final of the FACEIT League Stage 1 finals after beating Virtus.pro 2-1 (16-6 on de_inferno, 5-16 on de_overpass and 16-14 on de_cache).

The first map of the series was de_inferno, where NiP got off to a tremendous start as they took a commanding a 12-3 lead after playing on the Terrorist side. In the second half, Virtus.pro gave a better account of themselves and strung a few rounds together, but it did not take long before NiP picked up four rounds to seal a comfortable 16-6 victory.

Both teams then moved on to de_overpass, which is traditionally a very strong map for Virtus.pro. The Polish team managed to live up to the billing and cruised to a seven-round lead at the end of the first half.

The first two rounds of the second half also went Virtus.pro's way, which forced NiP to on a force buy in the third round. Luckily for the Swedish team, the move paid off, but Virtus.pro quickly got back on their feet and sealed a 16-5 victory to level the series on one map.

NiP and Virtus.pro played out a three-map thriller

It all came down to de_cache, which was neck-and-neck between the two teams as neither side could stamp their authority on the game. Virtus.pro ended up taking a one-round lead going into the second half, and for a while it seemed that the Polish team would claim victory as they were just two rounds away from victory. However, NiP picked themselves up in the dying stages of the match and overturned the deficit to seal passage to the grand final of the tournament.

and fnatic does flying hs all the time but they are still consistently placing on the top on basically every tournament. sure there's some luck but there's also skill behind it

Allu vs Snax 0.5 seconds before he defuses, and xizt defuses after 1 vs 1 with 0.5 sec margin, i'm not saying that NiP is bad team or not deserve to be in final. But in this game they were realy lucky for them... If you can't see that you are a fan boy.

No i can't. It was even game, but in every close round nip won, not allways by skill. So they played well just as vp did but luck was on only one of the sides. I wouldn't say a word if nip would won good fashion for ex. 16:10 and those few lucky moments would not make any diffrence but they did.

well that's another thing of course. i was talking about #3's comment "more luck than brain". tight match with some luck on both sides. more luck for nip probably. but what really made the match was the end where nip kept changing their positions to take every entry kill (forest's awp pushes for example)

Sure, they played realy well in the end but in the other hand i think i would be 11:4 for Vp and game over after first half if not that 1v1 allu/Snax with no zoom still little movment shot, fortune was with NiP this time. Next time we will see. :)

Pretty close game. But also, pretty hilarious match as well, Forest (as T) still remaining in quad instead of peaking, GTR unable to kill the planter and etc. :D

Am I missing something...why didn't nip and tsm have to win 2 bo3's to get to the final coming from the lower bracket? doesn't seem fair for VP/fic to be out of the tournament after one loss.
