ESL ESEA League finals in Cologne

ESL has announced that the offline finals of its CS:GO Pro League, held in conjunction with ESEA, will be held at its esports arena, in Cologne.

The first season of the ESL ESEA Pro League will come to a close with the offline finals, which will take place from July 2-5 inside the German company's esports arena, in Cologne.

The top four teams from the European and the North American divisions will duke it out for the title of ESL ESEA Pro League champion and the lion's share of the tournament's whopping $500,000 prize purse. ESL and ESEA have also vowed to cover the participating teams' travel expenses.

ESL's Cologne arena will stage the offline finals of its global CS:GO league

In the coming weeks, ESL will release more information about the tournament format and tickets. You can follow our coverage of the league by going here.

+1 With a prize pool this big, EU deserves more teams. Besides, it's just depressing to watch NA teams get stomped by EU

I'm American, and I'm disappointed that there are 4 American teams going... when there's a $500,000 prize pool we do not deserve to have half of the teams there.

It's not about skill of the teams. It's about market shares. NA represents a huge portion of the CSGO viewer and player base. A major reason why they are able to host tournaments with such large prize pools is because of the NA brings in so much money for these tournament organizers.

People are always going to root for homegrown talent. Just because NA teams haven't faired well recently doesn't mean that their fan base will just leave them. They may be disappointed in the performances, but they still hope that teams like C9 will get out of their slump and start winning. Why do you think there is always so much discussion around the NA scene in forums all the damn time? Why do you think people care about the NA shuffle? You underestimate the NA fan base.

8 teams it's just not enough. 4 slots for NA it's just shameless. No hard feelings for you muricans. It's just that so many higher skilled teams from EU deserve a slot more than top 4 NA.

I think its fair to have 4 NA teams. Esea started in NA like 13 years ago so I don't see them doing changing. It should always be top4 teams from different continent. I hope the other continents (Asia, India, Etc) grows so we see more teams from different continent competing. Also i think this is going to help organizations send their team to Europe before finals to bootcamp.

wow.. i would rather see 8 EU teams playing for 1million than having 4 NA teams playing for 500k. it's easier to win money for NA in this event.. Since they don't have 4 tier 1 teams..

You can (and will) have 8 EU teams playing for $500k. The reason you can't have it all is that AT LEAST half of the money is coming from NA. ESEA was founded and run by two American's. That so many teams can compete for such a lucrative prize is thanks to that generosity; namely, with the knowledge that the NA teams won't win. No, there's not any Tier 1 NA team, but since we're fronting the money, I think it's reasonable to have representation there too.

"Deserve"? They're fronting half the money. You guys exclude NA from almost all of your tournaments. The ONLY time NA teams even play EU teams are in some of these tournaments. Go look up the history of teams like GPlay and Property and see if they've EVER played any of the current NA teams. It doesn't happen. So, go on with your elitist rants, but if we're going to put up half the money we should have half the representation. Most of your tournaments already are EU-only.

Yes because most of our tournaments are ONLINE. and why is it fair?your best team ibp couldnt even beat a very weak Penta lineup. none of your na teams could take a map off teams from eu in esea finals Not even Mouse/Titan. thats why your teams only deserve 1-2 Spots
