CEVO to hold ESWC female qualifiers

For both Europe and North America, CEVO will be organizing the ESWC female qualifiers, taking place from June 6-7. Sign-ups for both qualifiers are now open.

A total of eight teams will travel to Montreal, Canada to fight for a share of the $15,000 prize pool reserved for the female tournament taking place on July 9-10.

Only ex-3DMAX are confirmed as of now as last year's champions, but the application process was closed yesterday, May 28th, meaning we will know the three remaining invitees in the foreseeable future.

ex-3DMAX will be looking to defend the title in Montreal

The remaining four teams will come from a couple of qualifiers, one for North American female teams and one for European teams, each handing out two spots at the main tournament in Montreal.

Both qualifiers will be played in a double-elimination bracket, with best-of-threes in the upper bracket and best-of-ones in the lower bracket, and they will be open to a limited number of teams only.

Both qualifier days, June 6th and 7th, will begin at noon local-time (CEST/EST). Interested teams can sign up for a $5 fee per player on the CEVO website.

I have an important question to ask. CSGO has leagues for the regular divisions and female division. Females can join regular but males can not join females. Why is this?

It's hard for girls to bear the overall sexism and criticism everytime they play against men or in tournaments with men. It was even harder before so they were left aside and had their own tournaments. Now the level gap is too wide and they clearly can't compete with men (actually they never could from the start because women aren't educated to play games like men are, but now it's even harder). Also, tournament organizers actually like female tournaments since it has a good viewer base.
