ESWC comments on Central qualifier

ESWC has commented on the cancellation of the Central European qualifier for this year's world finals.

On Tuesday, CSGames.pl announced that it would no longer be able to host an offline qualifier for teams from Central and Southern Europe after days of uncertainty surrounding the event, which was scheduled to take place next week, in Warsaw.

Contacted by HLTV.org, ESWC lamented all the problems surrounding the qualifier and justified its decision to choose CSGames.pl as a licensed partner with the company's "central position in Europe and dynamic local market in Poland".

European teams can now apply for a spot at ESWC

The spot at ESWC 2015 that initially would go to the winner of the qualifier will instead be filled through an application process open to all European teams, regardless of region. All interested teams can fill out the application form by going here. Please keep in mind that ESWC will not provide travel or accommodation support.

For each of the regional or national qualifiers, we receive and study plans submitted by potential partners. CSGames.pl proposed an interesting project regarding their central position in Europe and the dynamic local market they have in Poland. They committed on the full support of all travels and accommodation costs related to the venue in Montreal for the qualified team - that was our only request.

However the online qualification, which started last weekend, encountered many problems and was not managed properly. This Monday, CSGames.pl announced us that they finally won't be able to organize the offline final due to the departure of one of their main sponsor... So we are now forced to cancel this disappointed attempt of qualifier, and transform the slot in an application for one European team. The selection will be made quickly to let enough time for the selected team to arrange its travel.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank and congratulate our other of qualification partners CEVO, 5ePlay, Masters du Jeu Vidéo, Cyberstadium and Orena who produce a very good job this month."

"For each of the regional or national qualifiers, we receive and study plans submitted by potential partners," ESWC tournament director Sylvain Maillard told HLTV.org.

"CSGames.pl proposed an interesting project regarding their central position in Europe and the dynamic local market they have in Poland. They committed on the full support of all travels and accommodation costs related to the venue in Montreal for the qualified team - that was our only request.

ESWC 2015 will take place from July 9-12 in Montreal, Canada, with $75,000 on offer in the male CS:GO tournament.

Why not just let the 32 teams who made it to the closed qualifier play, maybe facit can host it.

GOGO Kinguin write a good application and you can go. Write that due to ESL ESEA giving basically just 12 teams ideal practice, it should be given to a team outside of that league so they too can get pracc against the best teams and have the opportunity to develop as much as the rest.

Kinguin can start out in the ESL or ESEA open like any other team, after 2 seasons they will be able to qualify for the Pro League. I do not see them participating in open yet though?

I'm wondering how dumb ESWC could be to even cooperate with CSGames.pl - one look at their website could give you a short expression - UNPROFESSIONAL.
