ex-Vox sign for Renegades

North American organisation Renegades have announced that they have ventured into Counter-Strike by completing the signing of the former Vox Eminor team.

Previously known as Misfits, Renegades boast a well-known League of Legends team, who are competing in the North American Challenger Series division, the second-highest league in the region, just behind the LCS.

In addition to welcoming former CLG coach Christopher "MonteCristo" Mykles as their new co-owner, Renegades have expanded to CS:GO by signing Vox Eminor's team, who recently raised eyebrows at the Gfinity Masters as they beat Team Liquid and took a map off fnatic.

The move to a North American organisation will certainly fuel talk that the team could soon move to this region to be closer to the biggest events and to compete in online tournaments like the ESL ESEA Pro League and CEVO Professional.

"Vox won the hearts of fans with their personalities and strong results against top teams at recent events, even though none of the players currently practice full-time," Renegades said in a statement.

"We hope that by bringing the team on salary, with the help of our sponsor AlphaDraft, they will continue to refine and improve their play in the coming months."

The Australian team's first event under Renegades will be the ESWC finals, in Montreal, from July 9-12, where they will be hoping to get a piece of the $75,000 prize pool.

They mentioned that they wanted to move to na, renegade is an na organization, and they mentioned something (i don't remember what) about the pro league in na. So i'm pretty sure they will. But yes salaries are confirmed.

I have a feeling that they are gonna only move to na(if they do) for only about 3-4 months or a bit more(a season of the esea esl league). and then move back to Aus for the rest of the year and then go back 9 months after that etc., because i cannot really see them moving permanently:/

Yeah let's hope so, they've not really given any hints yet as to what they're going to do in regards to ESEA because of the way the relegation system will work.

Id say the opposite as it proves they are dedicated to their jobs so much so they are moving to another country for it. Employers would also know if you are the best in the country at one skill then you must be dedicated and hard working to have reached that level.

I would'nt call it ditching your job. It would be quiting your job and moving to another continent because a more interesting job opportunity came up. If i ever saw that on a resume i would think that he/she is hard working and determined to do what is necessary.

I like it when i see an underdog play against teams like NiP/fnatic with their own style rather than ultra complicated strats and then fail. Thats what made coL so special in the early days of csgo even c9.

A salary might make them worse, like they did to teams like C9 and Liquid. SPUNJ also said in an interview that, that is the reason NA teams slack, there's not as much passion when they get payed for playing he said.

so many EU teams that could be top 10 material if salaried, seems a shame. The biggest thing VOX has going for them is not how good they are, its how popular they are, and the potential twitch viewers/sticker money they may pull with a big NA move. They definitely have potential to be a decent top 15 team, but getting to that level in NA seems unrealistic.
