EnVyUs to StarSeries final over GPlay

The second semi-final in Kiev was a repeat of the opening match of the tournament, with EnVyUs looking to avoid a repeat of the disappointing performance that saw them lose to the Bulgarian side on Friday.

This time around, however, EnVyUs gave a much better account of themselves as they got off to a flying start on de_dust2, where they picked up the first 11 rounds of the map. GPlay then called a much-needed timeout to talk things through and refocus, and the move paid off as they were able to take three of the next four rounds.

The second half began with EnVyUs once again in cruise control, and it did not take long for the Frenchmen to seal a 16-4 win and secure a 1-0 lead in the series.

Next up was de_inferno, where EnVyUs came out the brighter by taking the first three rounds. Every time that the Frenchmen tried to build a considerable lead, GPlay would crawl back into the game, powered by an impressive display from Simeon "⁠dream3r⁠" Ganev, who won a 1vs3 and a 1vs4 clutch.

GPlay would go on to finish the half up 8-7, but EnVyUs overturned the deficit right after by winning the first three rounds on the Terrorist side. The Bulgarians then picked up two rounds in a row to level the score 10-10, but they were stunned by a 1vs2 clutch from Richard "⁠shox⁠" Papillon that gave the former LDLC team the necessary boost pick up the win.
