Nihilum have announced that they have parted ways with Timothy "autimatic" Ta.

The move comes with little surprise as Nihilum have been going through a slump in form that has seen them lose four of their last five official matches. Not even the contribution of former mousesports player Nikola "⁠LEGIJA⁠" Ninić, who was recently hired as coach, has been enough to turn the team's fortunes around.

The recent defeats in the ESL ESEA Pro League have seen the team drop down to sixth in the table, while last night's 1-2 loss against Luminosity spelled the end of the road for them in the iBP Summer Invitational after just one round.

Hiko's and SEMPHIS' team down to four players

In an effort to get back to winning ways, Nihilum have now announced that they have cut ties with Timothy "⁠autimatic⁠" Ta, who had been part of the team since December, when he was recruited to replace Mitch "⁠DUM0RE⁠" Green.

During the coming weeks, Nihilum will be trying out potential recruits to decide who will be filling autimatic's shoes. Until a permanent solution is found, the team will field a stand-in.

Nihilum currently have the following four-man lineup:

Joshua "⁠sancz⁠" Ballenger
Kory "⁠SEMPHIS⁠" Friesen
Spencer "⁠Hiko⁠" Martin

+1 The old Denial lineup before Hiko and Semphis joined were a really great team, they had great chemistry. Now it's just Hiko and Semphis taking over and who doesn't perform well gets cut.

Summit almost beat olofmeister on an aim map with 150 ping he lost 14-16 so if he could decide to commit to the game and only stream some like Hiko does he might be a somewhat viable option.

Typical There's only one good team that's had the same roster for more than a year. Roster changes are what happens in a volatile competition environment. The difference is that EU roster changes tend to make the teams better. In NA it's just to get like-minded people together or to keep groups of friends or cliques together.

Good move for Nihilum. Autimatic was struggling to find his place on the team, especially on CT-sides. He's a very young and talented player, who lacked experience/knowledge to play structured CS. There are a lot of good players in ESEA Premier who can fill in the spot as a roll player, excited to see who they'll pick up.

Semphis is probably the most in-form player in NA right now. Autimatic was sick but he was ranked after hiko, semphis and sancz frag-wise so if nihilum needed changes then I guess he had to go. Desi would be aight...he deserves a team and still has plenty to learn.

This leads me to believe that the team is going to get valens (the "leader" of the roster) removed from leader because 70% of the team has to agree to change leader, and valens statistically is the worst BY FAR on the team in league and scrims doesn't hold even a .6 fpr rather .5, while autimatic was holding a solid .6 it was just the first step in a bunch of changes coming to this team I'm guessing play.esea.net/teams/75021 play.esea.net/teams/75021?tab=stats

I would honestly tell Cloud9 players to stay the fuck away from Hiko and Semphis. Semphis being gone is awesome for the team, and thats super clear. Hiko is a good player, but swapping him with freak (when the roles are completely different) and when C9 is doing really well makes no sense.

Bad decision, but expected and logical after picking up Hiko and Semphis. Old Nihilum actually had teamplay and results started showing up for them, they just picked those two because they are labeled as some stars even tho Hiko nor Semphis have anything to show for the past year. Nihilum's results in last few weeks are blatant proof of that.

It's not really about IGL skills; I was mostly noting that teams seem to fall apart when Valens is around. As far as in game leadership, he seems to have some cool executes (by NA standards), but he just can't frag. Maybe he and Legija should switch and Valens should be the coach.

Their team with autimatic had arguably the highest raw fragging skill of any NA team (along with C9), so it's not about "competence" if you mean it in that sense. It's really lack of team chemistry and discipline going on. You can see it when they keep dying one at a time on so many T rounds or keep getting caught offguard on CT side.

sancz and valens are 3rd tier leftovers, autimatic as well. they aren't highly-skilled raw fraggers or whatever the fuck you just said, they're leftover mediocre players, same as semphis. hiko is the only competent player on that team, and he can't carry 4 other deadweight losers to the top of the leagues.

I still don't get the idea behind this team at all. They literally use no strats at all yet they hired a coach to help them. They don't practice. Semphis plays the awp, yeah for NA it might be enough, but he's literally shit compared to good awpers. The team looks like it's nothing serious and then Hiko writes "we'll be trying out new players for next season" as if he is committed to this. I mean, seriously?
