mouz, nV advance at Gfinity Summer

mousesports and EnVyUs move on to the winner's match of Group B at the Gfinity Summer Masters I after winning matches against Virtus.pro and Cloud9, respectively.

The first day of Gfinity Summer Masters I saw its action commence early with Group A matches that saw NiP and dignitas advance to the Group A winner's match.

Group B kicked off with the Poles of Virtus.pro taking on mousesports. It would be no exaggeration to say that many favoured Virtus.pro to take the win—considering the two teams' head-to-head offline records—and advance to the winner's match of the GSL format group stage.

However, any such expectations of an easy game were dispelled when mousesports, led by the fragging of Dutchman Chris "chrisJ" de Jong, took the first map of de_cbble into overtime. In overtime, mouz narrowly edged out a win on the first map, 22-20.

chrisJ was undoubtedly the man-of-the-match for mousesports

Perhaps even more surprisingly, the primarily German team emerged even stronger on de_cache and after a strong CT side, the team closed the map with a 5-1 T side. mousesports therefore sealed the map with a win of 16-5 and took the series in a 2-0 upset.

The final match of the day featured Cloud9 taking on EnVyUs: both teams whose cores have a history of playing each other to close matches.

The North American team brought the match over in their favour at first, forcing de_train to overtime. EnVyUs, who are not known for their experience on train, eventually fell in the first map, with Cloud9 winning 19-16.

de_inferno was a total whitewash for the French squad as they followed up a 13-2 CT half with a clean early T side, winning 16-2. With de_cache the third and final map, Cloud9 tried to rally; yet, the Frenchmen were too strong, and Richard "shox" Papillon and his men took the map with a score of 16-12, winning the series 2-1.

It's VP who was playing really bad, not mousesports who was playing really good. You can clearly see it in cbble and those clutches. That hype over mousesports for nothing is funny.

what hype are you talking about? they took out a top4 team 2-0, including a 16-5 on cache. it's a great success for them and, regarding its their first offline event with this lineup, gives hope for the future. nobody would pick them as a serious contender to win the whole thing. its just a great success, nothing more. youre over damatising things right here, because(for whatever reason) you are mad about the result.

Freak got caught on a lot of gimmicks which ended up costing C9 quite a few rounds. He's a good aimer but he needs to be more tactically aware.

watching freak was so bad to witness, his game sense is no where, remember on cache when he pushes b and has all the info in the world that there is no one mid or b, insted of holding a good angel allowing only 1 person on b and 3 on a, he just walks into no mans land, gets insta killed which happened countless amount of times. He never learned and this "confidence" man can be as confident as he wants but that's going to get him no where without game sense.

Friday evening and you ask if I stayed at home and watch cs? too many nolifers on here. even if he played well in that match, one good game doesn't make him a good entryfragger overall. Take a good look at the last three months. People have to stop drawing conclusions so early.

I'm glad friberg could step it up again, don't get me wrong. I'm just sceptical if that was only a fluke. I hope he keeps on playing on that level, if he really played as good as you imply.
