Spiidi: "One of the tightest games"

mousesports' Timo "Spiidi" Richter talked to us after their narrow triumph versus Virtus.pro at Gfinity Summer Masters I.

mousesports' best-of-three with Virtus.pro couldn't have been any closer, as the match featured a total of 105 rounds over three maps, good for three overtimes in total.

In the end, despite the Poles' comeback threats on each map, mousesports prevailed and took a spot in the playoffs to meet NiP in the first semi-final tomorrow.

The Virtus.pro decider was one of the most tense games for Spiidi

Read below to see what Timo "Spiidi" Richter had to say on the victory and the NiP semi-final ahead of mousesports:

-You just won against VP in 3 maps and 2 overtimes, what are your feelings?
Super exhausted, it was one of the most tense games in my life,
especially because we started so well on Dust2, I think we were up 11:1 and
to be honest you can`t give a lead like that away anymore, but then
you realize the oppenent gets more and more rounds, you make more mistakes,
then you`re a little (tense, crampy) then an overtime and if you lose the map like this
there`s a chance the team is simply tilted, but I am proud of ourselves for leaving it behind
and starting off strong on Mirage and deservetly winning the map.
Then everything started all over on train, we had a good start again, I guess it was 6:1 at one point.
After that we lost all rounds on one side again, we headed to Overtime again, then a second and a third Overtime.
It was really a sick match, I probably couldn`t have been able to go online again if we hadn`t won it in the end.
It`s been really exhausting, but I am relieved we made it in the end.
-Did you have any special expectations? Gobb told us that he sees the tournament more like a test.
Yes, our main target was to play good maps with good results, so we can learn from our mistakes, so avoid being stomped 16:0 in every match because it`s hard to see anything, as there are way too many things going wrong in those kind of matches.
For example against nV we had a few good rounds even though we weren`t able to close them out.
But of course everyone has personal goals and the playoffs defenitely were mine because I thought we could reach that with our lineup for sure.
It was a rocky road but we managed to pull it off.
Now we have to face NiP which is probably going to be a notch harder, but we will give out best.
-Do you think you can win against NiP?
Of course I think we can take them, naturally the outcome of the match will highly depend on the daily shape.
We are prepared for everything and ready to fight!

i think gobs methodical play is one of the reasons they beat VP in the first place. they kept them guessing in a lot of rounds which made it hard for VP to rotate accordingly.
