EnVyUs beat NiP to win Gfinity Summer

EnVyUs are the Gfinity Summer Masters I champions after seeing off Ninjas in Pyjamas 3-0 (16-10 on de_dust2, 16-4 on de_inferno and 16-9 on de_cache).

After three action-packed days, the Gfinity Summer Masters title was to be contested by EnVyUs and Ninjas in Pyjamas, two teams who were desperate to return to winning ways after enduring a slump in form in recent weeks.

de_dust2 began with EnVyUs taking bragging rights first by picking up the opening four rounds of the game. NiP then responded in the fifth round, but they were unable to build on that success, which allowed the Frenchmen to quickly get back into the game.

After finding themselves down 1-6, the Swedes were able to finally string two rounds together, but a triple kill from Vincent "Happy" Schopenhauer in long shattered their economy. NiP still managed to recover in the dying stages of the half to bring the scoreline to 6-9.

NiP began the second half on a winning note by winning the first two rounds with ease, but they were completely caught by surprise in the third round, when a Desert Eagle eco from EnVyUs proved effective, with Fabien "kioShiMa" Fiey picking up three kills. That turned out to be the deciding moment in the game as the Frenchmen maintained their momentum all the way until sealing a 16-9 victory.

NBK turned in a great display on dust2

Map #2 was de_inferno, where NiP came out the brighter as they won the pistol round and the first anti-eco round. But the Swedes were then
stunned by an ecoing EnVyUs side in the following round as the Frenchmen brilliantly held the A bombsite down in a 3on3 situation.
EnVyUs remained in the driving seat for several more rounds as they brought the scoreline to 6-2, but their streak came to an end in the 9th
round, when they were caught off-guard by a Tec9 B rush from NiP. Still, one more round was all that Richard "Xizt" Landström's men accomplished until the end
of the half as the French team enjoyed an 11-4 lead before switching to the Terrorist side of the map.
In the second half, EnVyUs kicked things off with a no-nonsense B push that NiP could do nothing against, and the Frenchmen controlled the pace
of the game in the following rounds to seal an impressive 16-4 triumph that put them just one map away from victory.

shox was unstoppable on de_inferno

The final map of this tie was de_cache, where NiP struggled to make their mark on the game for most of the first half as EnVyUs looked on point most of the time. As the game wore on, the Swedes finally managed to find their feet, but a 7-8 deficit meant that they had a mountain to climb to turn this game around.

But NiP's plans were thrown were quickly thrown into chaos as EnVyUs controlled the tempo of the game in the second half, conceding just two rounds before sealing a 16-9 victory and a 3-0 overall success.

Congratulations to ENVYS, great play by them. About NiP Gaming, they should take a break from tournaments and concentrate on their teamwork and individual form, which is currently just bad.

Salty ? Why do you think so ? I actualy agree with you. But you are changing your mind quite fast man:-) First you wrote, that one should ALWAYS bet against NiP, then in FINALS only. First you wrote that they NEVER won a final and now you say that past doesn't count. You should make up your mind already :-)

i feel like nip does not deserve those 20 000 dollars i mean after how they played in that final vs envyus? and what teams did they manage to beat this tournament dignitas and mouse? i feel like some other team this tournament deserves those monies much more!

The problem in NIP is allu. If you look at him play he is 80% of the time useless. He gets dropped or buys 5 awp´s per game and gets 2-3 frags PER game. He plays so f-ing defensive. All the frag he gets is basically exit frags. I´ve said it before and i´l say it again this allu+natu combo is not working out and "they don´t need time" they need roster change, period.

I think the reason is that nip wants him to play defensive.

totally agree. Allu is a monster versus mid-tier teams. But he's nothing playing against the top-tier teams. He may have so many high-light videos with amazing footage. However, He will not have many medals, especially gold ones.

So dissapointing performance of NIP. Envy plays so good when it really matters, or is it NIP who always chokes in bigger finals? Congrats to Envy, congrats to NBKry.

Indeed. The perfect tournament for Nip would be, since they cant beat tier 1 teams in finals, if they faced Fnatic in the 1/8, TSM in the 1/4, Envy in the 1/2 and then some tier 2 - 2,5 team in the final.

NiP seem to lack any real executes in any map, they either play it slow and work around to get an entry or they rush like mad fucks and win their aim battles. As soon as they face a team that challenges them in terms of aim they get rekt. Also, maybe if they stop having the easy group every time they'll bother changing something.. :D

allu needs to get kicked real fast. can't speak swedish AND can't hit shots; what's the point in making the risk with the language barrier in the first place? he's really trash. #goninjas (ha h a) really boring final. nip couldn't counter nV's molotovs and were generally playing like trash.

Honestly, I think NiP is not even the 4th best team in the world. NaVi seems much more stable than them right now. Team ranking for me - 1) fnatic 2) TSM 3) nV 4) NaVi 5) NiP 6) VP 7) Titan
