Cloud9 upset EnVyUs in opener

Cloud9 have completed a 16-13 win over EnVyUs (7-8, 9-5) on de_cache to move to the winner's match of group A at ESL ESEA Pro League Season 1 Finals.

To begin the match, Nathan "⁠NBK-⁠" Schmitt scored two USP-S headshots in a round where nV ran a perfect counter tactic to shut down Cloud9's A hit and giving them an early 3-0 lead..

After going down 0-6, Tyler "⁠Skadoodle⁠" Latham and Mike "⁠shroud⁠" Grzesiek got a couple of good entry kills and Sean "⁠seang@res⁠" Gares seemingly figured EnVy's style out.

EnVy could only muster one more weapon round later in the half as the Americans tied the game at 7-7, only to lose to a desperation buy of mostly pistols in the final round.

seang@res led his team to a surprising comeback win over EnVyUs

Down 7-8, Cloud9 made things harder for themselves by losing another pistol round, despite seang@res calling what EnVy would do ahead of the round even beginning.

Vincent "⁠Happy⁠" Schopenhauer got his team another first weapon round win to start the second half up 5-0, or 13-7 overall - meaning EnVy had 6-0 and 5-0 leads to start the halves.

Cloud9 then mounted a massive comeback led by Skadoodle and Jordan "⁠n0thing⁠" Gilbert's fragging, with seang@res reading EnVy perfectly to win nine straight rounds.

C9 won tacticly, but lost out on skill. Pistol rounds because of that wen't to nV, but nV could not do anything to c9 on gun rounds. C9 still has mistakes like peekeing without smoke, running into site 1 by 1, but overall. They are top 10!

Even gplay and g2 beat nv in starseries in a bo1 . Omg, muricans get a hold of urself. NV always have slow starts in tournaments, no matter what, they will never get out of groups.

Extremely good performance by Cloud9 as well as good performance by all the players. Was a joy to listen to their comms, they were never flustered at any point. No magic rounds either, they won all their rounds very convincingly.
