Virtus beat Cloud9; to semis

Virtus.pro have secured the first place in the ESL Pro League Finals last-four stage after moving past Cloud9 16-10 on de_overpass.

Fresh off beating EnVyUs in what was the first upset in Cologne, Cloud9 were paired with Virtus.pro, who had eased past Luminosity Gaming earlier in the day. The battleground was de_overpass, which certainly left the Poles very happy as this is a map on which they are usually very strong.
Cloud9, who began the match on the Terrorist side, came out strongly and won the pistol round and the following two anti-ecos with ease. In the first gun round, Virtus.pro went for an aggressive approach as they pushed the fountain area and the playground, and even though things looked grim at first for them, they were able to retake the A site in a 3on3 situation.

Virtus.pro through to the semi-finals

Virtus.pro went on to take the scoreline to 7-3 in their favor, but then their streak came to an end thanks to a Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham double near the A site. Cloud9 were able to cut the gap to two rounds, but a quad kill from Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski stunned the North Americans, who were down 5-10 at the end of the half.

The opening three rounds of the second half also went to Virtus.pro, who were now on the brink of victory. Cloud9 still tried to respond, but the gap was just too big to bridge as Virtus.pro comfortably sealed a 16-10 victory that takes them through to the last-four stage of the tournament.

There won't be an elimination match. Cloud9 ended up being 2nd in the group. Now they'll play fnatic/TSM in quarter-finals

vp and winner of keyd/clg go to the semis and then if nV win will face loser of keyd/clg or winner of fnatic/tsm and c9 same.. theyre already out of group to querter-finals.. now the eleimination matches left between tsm/fnatic and luminosity/nV

"ALL" I see we're speaking for everyone now, at least leave room to admit the possibility of being incorrect. The majority of people that post on these forums (Myself and yourself included obviously incase you missed that) have no idea of the inner workings of a team as they haven't reached that level yet. Maybe once they do they may comment on who can get cut or who can't and for what reason. Saying "OMG minus NEO" after a bad game, or BO3 isn't critique it's just spam. Much like after someone does something good, they get 43 threads made in their honour with "OMG WHAT A PLAY". Perhaps in the future you should stick to small words and visual aids for your points, because this one here is about as sharp as a bowling ball.

it's funny tho, neo is playing much much better than last year, but now snax and byali are kinda underperforming, if they bring their level back i could really see vp up there with tsm and fnatic

Im really stoked for American teams to be making a showing of this. We all know who the best teams in the world are and there really is no need to be a dick about it. It seems like there is a huge fear of NA teams performing at tier 1 levels. It's really interesting. I'm a fnatic fan from waaay back in 1.6, SK too when they were a Swedish line up. Many of my NA buddies have love and respect for Euro teams. It would be nice to see some support coming from other countries to our guys too. Either way, happy hunting. This tourney is awesome!
