fnatic, TSM win in Valencia

fnatic and Team SoloMid got off to great starts in Valencia after moving past Team Liquid and Ninjas in Pyjamas in the first round of the FACEIT League Stage 2 finals.

Certainly one of the most anticipated matches of the day was the Nordic showdown between Team SoloMid and Ninjas in Pyjamas, two teams eager to get back on track after some mixed results in recent events.

NiP claimed bragging rights first after picking up the pistol round on the Terrorist side, but then the Swedes were stunned by a force buy from Team SoloMid. Two rounds later, NiP would reduce the deficit to 2-3, but their inability to build on round wins proved costly and left their economy in shambles.

cajunb topped the scoreboard against NiP

It was only when NiP were down 2-8 that they finally managed to win back-to-back rounds, but TSM never took their foot off the gas as they stormed to an 11-4 scoreline at the end of the half.

The Swedish team came from the break with all guns blazing, which saw them equalise the score at 12-12, but TSM picked themselves up in the dying stages of the game to take a 16-13 victory.

The other match in Group B also featured one Nordic giant, fnatic, who had to lock horns with Team Liquid. The first half of this match, played on de_dust2, was a close affair as only three rounds separated the two teams at the break, but then the Swedes ran riot in the Terrorist side, dropping just three rounds before sealing a 16-9 success.

Well GT didn't play bad, he did hold B. And all the ecos etc TSM had was rushing middle/A. f0rest and Xizt collect 3k, 4k etc against ecos. They had like two rounds they went B, and one of them was when GT had a mag-7 wich he got one kill with. You should never look at the scores, maybe sometimes. But in this case they are showing wrong, GT was one of the players with the most impact frags in NiP.

Tbh Xizt was the one who kept NiP in the game, GTR didn't play up to his own standards, that 1v1 lost against karrigan i think it was kinda tells the story of his performance in this bo1. f0rest also stepped up in some of the must win rounds, so I feel like the stats are telling the truth in this match atleast.

That 1on1 maybe GT would have had, still just unlucky by him. But still he was one of the reasons on t-side that NiP got the rounds they got, 3k entry for example. He had the most kills as T of NiP if I remember correctly, or Xizt. But on CT he never did get any chance, he got left in impossible retakes most of the times. Except for that 1on2 that he lost.

I disagree, yes he made like a 3k or something that got them a round, but Xizt had much more impact throughout the first half, for instance he won them the pistol round and also he was the one to open up the b site allowing them to get into afterplant scenarios, I feel Xizt deserves a huge chunk of credit for NiP getting to 13 rounds in this game. He's really stepped it up.

I agree on Xizt, I just meant that the scores doesn't really show how GT played. And I didn't say GT was the only one with most impacts, Xizt had more I agree. But after Xizt it was GT on the first half. That's what I tried to say. "GT was _one_ of the players with the most impact frags in NiP."

I understood perfectly fine what you were saying, and I agree with the point you made about the scores doesn't represent his performance, since he was definitely not the worst player in NiP, but he wasn't one of the players with most impact, since f0rest and Xizt showed up way more than GTR did, so on that point i disagree.

highly unlikely? they barely lost 2 weeks ago at EEPL. I definitely think they can upset fnatic, they've done it so many times
