We caught up with Dennis "dennis" Edman and Ricardo "fox" Pacheco to talk about Kinguin's success considering the time they had to practice, Danniél "dalito" Morales's transition into the in-game leader and more.

Kinguin started things off with a devastating loss to Cloud9 and decided to switch the in-game leader role to coach Danniél "⁠dalito⁠" Morales. They did much better on the second day, as they defeated Virtus.pro 2-1 (including a 16-0 de_cache).

While they weren't able to overcome Na`Vi despite getting to a good start on map three, Kinguin still surprised many by taking their opponents down on de_inferno, which they haven't practiced with this lineup.

Why shouldn't they be happy ? They show clear progress and are able to give the top teams a real run for their money. Many expected them to fucking crash and burn, get demolished by everyone but they played some decent cs. If this trend continues and they are able to add some actual executes to their tactical arsenal they could definitely compete with with the best.

My friend,in Portugal , the English only began to be implemented as a priority recently in schools. Fox is 28 , then he studied at the stage where no importance was given to the English. He is improving, and let rekt this bitches

I'm 28 and speak near perfect english. It has nothing to do with that. He probably comes from a poor family and didn't have the same opportunities or didn't think it was important to him, idk. He's working his ass off and trying to improve. I respect him for that. We all make mistakes in life. It's what we learn from them that counts.

Not true. i'm 26, and I've had english classes since i was 9 (that means 4th grade / last year of primary school), all of my older cousins (some in their 40's and mid to late 30's) have had english classes at least since 1st year of junior high, or, in our country 5th grade. 99.9% of all schools have had english has 1st foreign language, while some went for french/german or other language (it was up to schools to decide what 1st language the students studied). fox dropped out of school for his own reasons and for his gaming career as well. and I don't think he ever really cared enough to learn even the most basic stuff. english is like the easiest language to learn. period.

Now we know why he seemed lost most of the times, if he can not understand the info he's geting ofc it will be hard as fuck to play 5v5 in a pro level. And has he said, on k1ck he had a difrent rolle, he basicly picked and old the angles he wanted to. Most pros only play certan parts of the map, that's due to them being good at holding or picking those angles. Either away he should step up his game, he need to concentrate in the game, most of the times he died it wasn't even due to the fact that he has bad aim or not, but that he was distracted.

i didnt know that fox couldnt speak any english when he joined kinguin. but it makes totally sense to see him play. csgo is very momentume based, if ure moral and confidence is high, u can play ur best, otherwise u get rekt on all skill levels. combining his lack or limitation of understanding of english aswell as gettin comfortable in a complete new team cant make him play at his best. he seems like a nice guy and is obviously a great player, but i really think he will step his game up tremendously as soon as he settles 100% in his role in his team and feels comfortable with the communication. so theres still alot more potential in kinguin id like to see.

I wish people would stop jumping on the bandwagon when any of the pros are doing a mistake, I wish you toxic kids would stop watching the scoreboard for once and understand that this game is much more than just numbers. Against VP, fox did a really good job, on train he was the guy who got all the entries on T side, and even on CT he took the most difficult pos' as he was the first in line when the T would push on A. He still managed to get the first kill and delayed them so much just by using his nades. On Cache he won a lot of clutches (3 or 4) the ones which mattered, they would have been on eco instead if lost. Not gonna take all the other examples, because these ones are the most obvious cases not to call him a shit player as most of you do. I was going to troll his english, but he's fucking good at it considering he did not speak english before joining the team. He's even willing to get some lessons, he's so fucking motivated, don't destroy it just by flaming him & call him a bot, grow up.

Kinguin can definitely be proud with the fight and courage they showed at this event. It would have been so easy to think "they're better than us" and just get utterly destroyed because they already lost mentally. But they grabbed the bull by the horns and showed everybody that they could win every match they played, which is amazing, and must give them more motivation since they already know it is highly possible if they keep improving, now they can smell blood. I'm really a fan of Kinguin when it comes to being pioneers, and daring to do stuff other people have not done before. Like daring to make an international team, when the entire community is shit talking, and daring to have your coach as your IGL, when the entire top10 is talking shit about it, because they are afraid of change. Kinguin, hate them or love them. But they are a fresh breath of air into the counter strike scene, and definitely one of the teams, I am going to enjoy following with excitement to see what it ends out becoming.
