LanCraft 2015 with $2,400 in Ostrava

A traditional BYOC LAN in Czech Republic, LanCraft, has relocated to Černá Louka fairground, Ostrava, and will hand out the most prizemoney the local scene has seen in eight years this upcoming weekend.

From July 24-26, LanCraft 2015 will take place in Ostrava, Černá Louka fairgrounds with over 700 BYOC spots for numerous games, including CS:GO, League of Legends, Hearthstone, StarCraft II and DotA 2.

30 teams are registered as of now with only two days left before action begins in Ostrava, Czech Republic, with the biggest favourites being nEophyte, eSuba and Monads.

The LanCraft 2015 venue is under construction

While eSuba prevailed over nEophyte at ASUS FINALS 8, this time nEophyte will be present in their full lineup, while eSuba have to field David "⁠KAPARZO⁠" Lacina as a stand-in for their AWPer Radoslav "rdO" Tóth.

60,000 CZK (~$2,400) has been reserved for the Counter-Strike tournament, split between the top three as follows:

1. 30,000 CZK (~$1,200)
2. 20,000 CZK (~$800)
3. 10,000 CZK (~$400)

The system will depend on the number of teams, but it is expected for the teams to be split into eight groups, with 16 teams in total advancing to a double elimination bracket.

well, our hotels were booked, entry fee paid, sponsor meetings arranged and also some merch ordered for us. All in all it was not worth it to play qualifier because of our promise to attend this LAN. Not to mention that GA league informed us way too late about qualifier dates and we couldnt reschedule any of the matches, as we expected.

It's always been about going to LAN to meet irl and drink. Trust me, it turns into a booze fest once first few matches are played. Not many players in CZ/SVK take gaming seriously. Prizepool is decent tbh.

Well, for starters, I live in the Czech Republic atm and here 30 000 czk is quite a decent amount of money. The system works a lot different here than for example Germany or France or sth. Goods here are really cheap so the average salary is lower as well. And as many people said, a lot of people here are show-offs, meaning the LAN is more about having fun than the money.
