NiP, EnVyUs pull out of CEVO finals

CEVO has announced that Ninjas in Pyjamas and EnVyUs have decided against attending the Season 7 finals.

Last week, HLTV.org reported that EnVyUs would most likely miss the event due to roster changes at hand, which will see the DreamHack Winter champions recruit Kenny "⁠kennyS⁠" Schrub and Dan "⁠apEX⁠" Madesclaire from French rivals Titan.

EnVyUs and Ninjas in Pyjamas have now informed CEVO that they will not be able to attend the season finals, scheduled to start on Friday, due to "last minute unforseen circumstances."

The news increases the number of European teams to have withdrawn from the event to three after fnatic also relinquished their spot in the $75,000 competition. It is also likely to fuel speculation that NiP could also undergo roster changes before the ESL One Cologne major, which is just one month away.

NiP withdraw from CEVO finals

Replacing the European duo at the CEVO Finals will be Tempo Storm and CLG, who finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the North American professional division.

The groups draw has been remade to reflect these changes, and it looks as follows:

c9 plays great cs lately, but also benefits heavily by struggling euro teams with fnatic, nip, envy and vp. only tsm and navi are anywhere close to normal shape. the truth will be told in cologne at the major where all teams should be in top shape (even tho teams like envy lack teamplay with new team obviously in this short amount of time).

You're right, he usually doesn't but look at the playoff stats he has and maybe watch some games and figure out why he doesn't get so many kills. Eco frags count the most towards being a top fragger. allu usually doesn't go for eco frags is a thing I noted.

Obviously. C9 can't beat VP (VP is currently on 7 wins streak against them in BO3s on LAN) and only team that can stop them (unless some crazy meltdown similar to Kinguin game happens) is Navi, which might be eliminated by C9.

Cloud9 and mouz arent even. C9 are on a whole another level atm. Beating nV,Na'Vi and Fnatic on LAN is just something else.Yes liquid do put up a good fight but they cant win against c9 on LAN or who knows maybe this time they can but its pretty unlikely. Still easy for c9 or we'll see if it really is.

We cant know on which level mouz is atm. mouz uses a pretty good tactic they play almost no matches so teams cant prepare for them. Im sure gob b has something in his mind and it could be that mouz beat c9 i mean they beat vp twice and came very close to beating nv aswell mouz pretty much counters c9 antistratting it will come down to whos on point nex,chrisj,spiidi/denis or shroud,skadoodle,n0thing

When mouz came close to beating nV, EnVy was still playing seriously. Shox sleeping in his chair while others warmup, then just suiciding to molotovs while others warmup - that's the nV that got raped by C9. And probably would have been by just about any other tier 1 team.

I'll be interested in seeing how Mousesports does. They're generally ranked about 9th or 10th. They should be favored against CLG and Liquid, but if Cloud9 beats them, it should help C9's credentials some, just as losing to them should hurt them. A betting man would put money on Cloud9 and Mousesports making it out of groups On the other side LG and Tempo Storm are in a very tough group. It's highly improbable that either get out of the group stage. This is NaVi's and VP's easier route to the playoffs.
