Whindanski joins Infused

Team Infused have announced the permanent addition of Phil "Whindanski" Nicholas to their lineup.

The British team had been scouring the market for a new fifth player since the start of the month, when George "⁠hudzG⁠" Hoskins stepped down from the active lineup to take up a full-time position at Gfinity.

Phil "⁠Whindanski⁠" Nicholas, who is mostly known for his time in fm-esports, had played for Infused during the second online pre-qualifier for ESL One Cologne, in which they were eliminated in the fourth round of the Lower Bracket by p@p@d@s.

Whindanski joins Infused

The Irish player has now linked up with Infused on a permanent basis, this way bringing to a close his lengthy association with fm-esports.

"Feels good to be back playing again at a professional level with Infused," Nicholas said in a statement.

"I would like to thank Andrew and Alan for this great opportunity and of course all the players who have made me feel welcomed.

"I would like to take this moment to thank FM for 6 great years particularly Darren and Bret. I am looking forward to progressing my esports career with Infused."

Team Infused will take part in the ESL UK Premiership Summer season with the following lineup:

There has actually been quite a big influx of new talent, obviously the same faces are around but it's not as cut and dry as you think. I say give the UK scene another 6 Months and we'll have a mid to upper tier 2 team.

UK teams suck. Basically the UK scene has not so many good players. I'd say, except for the guys from "The Lone Rangers", there are only a couple of guys, who can compete at the highest level, namely Hughsy, Mx, and that's it... Without those guys UK is doomed.

Like once a month there are news about an UK team. But you never, ever see them actually play any games. WTF are these teams, and why do we get news about them? I don't think anyone actually cares, maybe someone who knows them personally, but overall this team has zero impact on the scene.
