Casters for APM finals revealed

TaKeTV has announced the talent lineup for the offline finals of the Acer Predator Masters powered by Intel.

The opening season of the Acer Predator Masters will come to a close with the offline finals, which will take place from July 30 to August 2 inside TaKeTV's new studio.

The top eight teams from the round-robin online league will duke it out for the bulk of the $40,000 prize pool, with the winner taking home half of that figure.

TSM are red hot favourites to win the event

Hosting the event will be Richard Lewis, who will be joined by a four-man panel including FACEIT's Dan "ddk" Kapadia and Greatfrag's Rahim Abdullaev. The German commentary will be provided by Fabian 'V3n0m" Doellert and Oliver "⁠kzy⁠" Heck.

Rahim casted cs for years for fun, when no one else was there to do it. I don't think many homeless people do that. It's a lan, not his bedroom, so he isn't going to have his edits there. He's actually going to cast, give him a chance even if it's not your sense of humour

You're right, he casted it FOR FUN. He is not a professional caster and as such shouldn't be at 40k$ LAN Finals. I don't have problem with him casting low tier games that only have so much views because of the betting, but when I'm watching a LAN event I except some amount of quality. Even if he somehow improves on his analysis part, his English is still terrible. He just doesn't belong in events like these.

Quality here is subjective. Rahim has experience as casting, and has fans. That's quality for an organizer. Many caster have bad English. Hell, even NBK casted last years Katowice finals

Most casters have good enough English. Not all of them speak it perfectly, but all speak it good enough. Rahim is somewhere around the it's pretty bad but understandable level, far below level of any other caster. Take note that Rahim never costed any big tournaments so far. That probably means that if somebody dislikes him, they probably won't watch the game at all. On regular basis, he doesn't get near as much viewers as FACEITTV does for example. Trust me, when 50k people tune in to watch this event, it will probably just cause clusterfuck of complaints when people that actually want to watch quality events are forced to watch Rahim cast something. He appeals to a fairly little part of viewers which follow him. This tournament will be watched by a much larger portion of CS audience.

Of course they're going to have more viewers, regardless of who's casting. It's just there to showcase how small his partion of CS audience is. LAN Finals will probably have much more viewers than this league had online, mostly because LAN finals attract a lot of viewers. It's mainly there to showcase that this event is gonna be bigger than anything he ever casted, as viewer pool won't be just fool of people that like him anymore.

If you watch this stream, you might get wrong idea that he appeals to larger number of viewers. There are people that enjoy his work for sure. Those are the only people that follow him since he rarely has large number of viewers. This tournament is probably bigger than anything that he ever casted. CSGO wise, he hasn't casted any bigger events. It's a different game from 1.6 and you can clearly see that he knows very little about CSGO and especially the teams (no information about how certain teams play certain maps, sometimes when teams buy few tec9 to level the money he calls it forcebuy and thinks they have to eco next round, sometimes says that T should save even tho his team can't buy next round, which means the person has to die)

It doesn't matter that he casted big stuff in other games, I was refering to CSGO events since this article is about CSGO. I remember one smaller event last year (might be russian) where they got professional basketball caster to cast CS game and it was catastrophe. The fact that he was good in casting 1.6 doesn't mean he will automatically cast CSGO just as good. If you're gonna look at it that way, there is no point at watching stream all together. They might just give us GOTV IP and I can watch what is going on myself. Casters need to have basic knowledge of teams and the game, knowledge they use to explain some things. Rahim isn't even funny, he just spams reptitive and annoying jokes. As I said, only less mature part of CS community finds him funny. He might be refreshing at first, but after 10 minutes he is just annoying. I hope you are right though and that he changes his style. If he tries cast the same way he does online, this is probably the only event he will ever get invited to.

CS = CS:GO the basic are all the same, the meta is the only thing that really changed, and it dosent matter if he casted anything big in CSGO he casted big stuff in 1.6, so he knows how to cast and is probably the longest lasting caster out there right now, and insted of relying on casters "basic knowledge" rely on your own, you sound like you are much better than any caster, so just watch a GOTV ip, tbh i dident read everything cus it's late and you wrote half a book.

The teams are different and there are parts of the game that work differently now. As I said, he can't even properly call eco rounds. Even more so, he has zero knowledge about teams and their usual tactics etc. It's a different game and it's a different time. Also, as I said, if I have to analyse it myself what is the point of even having casters. Casters are there to entertain and provide useful info so we don't have to.

This LAN will determine if Rahim will be chosen as a caster for future LAN. If he manages to not be awkward as fuck, he might get invited in the future. I personally hate his style and do not like his casting, but he might be able to tone it down, when he is forced to cast in a more normal fashion. If the LAN has chosen him for his usual casting - RIP stream.

well i dont expect memes all over the place but the guy is funny, if you are having a bad day and u tune into his stream you will have a good laugh for sure, he isnt serious like that, i like his style it's unique, but sometimes id rather hear ddk and black ddk or Anders

I do not find him funny one bit, but I have always said that I would not mind him casting on a secondary stream, for people who likes his craziness. This way there is something for everyone. I think it is a mistake by organizers to force people to listen to him, but as I said, if he tones it down it might be okay.

he will tone down for sure, but the thing is he has more supporters than haters, and it's only good for APM they get more money, and market them selfs. It's like artist like Kanye West alot of people hate him but alot people like him because he is how he is and it makes people talk on the media, like right now 80% of the responds in here are about Rahim going to cast you can always watch the GO:TV or find another commentator, but im sure he will tone down since he has ddk next to him, i can't see it work with ddk being serious, and rahim screaming and saying babam ever few seconds

There's no way they're gonna let Rahim do his normal thing. The rest of the casters/ananlysts crew will either bail on the event themselves or they'll kick him. He's gotta have an alter-ego or some shit.

Anyone that watches cs tournaments for anything other than bad comedy and 'funny' sounds will rightly be disappointed to hear that Rahim will be officially casting these games. Nothing against 'new' casters, but Rahim doesn't offer any analytical insights whatsoever and takes all the fun out of watching a match between two skilled teams. Hope the event will be good anyways and that Rahim shows us he has a better understanding of the game than simply 'BABAM!'.
