Gfinity calls off Summer Masters 2
Gfinity has announced that its second Summer Masters event has been called off.
The event was due to take place from August 14-16, just one week before ESL One Cologne, sparking concerns among the participating teams that they would not be able to practise for the major in an adequate manner.
After consulting with teams, Gfinity has now opted to remove the event from the calendar, which will give players more time to prepare and will reduce their travel time ahead of ESL One Cologne.

Teams will be able to bootcamp at the Gfinity Arena ahead of ESL One Cologne
The news comes just days after Gfinity announced a new tournament - called Gfinity champion of champions - featuring four teams and a $100,000 prize pool. The famous videogame event EGX, in Birmingham, is the venue selected for this quadrangular competition, featuring fnatic, Ninjas in Pyjamas, EnVyUs and Virtus.pro.
Meanwhile, Gfinity has announced that it will allow teams attending the Cologne major to use its esports arena as a bootcamp station, with high-end PCs being at the players' disposal in the practice rooms and booths.
