Virtus.pro beat Na`Vi to win CEVO S7

Virtus.pro are the CEVO Season 7 champions after picking up a 3-1 victory over Natus Vincere (16-8 on de_overpass, 16-11 on de_cache, 7-16 on de_cobblestone and 19-15 on de_mirage).

The title decider of CEVO Season 7's Professional division was a rematch of the one-sided Upper Bracket final of Group B, which had gone the way of Virtus.pro. In the semi-finals, Na`Vi had been able to dispose of mousesports on two maps, but they knew that going up against Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas's men was a completely different task.

The opening map of this best-of-five series was de_overpass, where Na`Vi claimed bragging rights first following an A push in the pistol round. The CIS-based side then lost control of the game, despite Denis "seized" Kostin coming within touching distance of winning a 1vs5 clutch.

Virtus.pro exerted their dominance on the game for the rest of the half, which allowed them to bring the scoreline to 11-4. The second round was keenly contested as rounds kept going back and forth, but in the end the Polish team ran out 16-8 winners and took a 1-0 lead in the series.

pasha silenced critics with a great display in the final

The map that followed was de_cache, were Na`Vi turned in an impressive display on the CT side to take a five-round lead going into the break. However, Virtus.pro responded in convincing fashion in the second half and quickly overturned the deficit, dropping just one round on the defensive side before sealing a 16-11 triumph that put them just one map away from victory.

Both teams then moved on to de_cobblestone, where Na`Vi once again were the better side after 15 rounds as they enjoyed a 9-6 lead. The Terrorist side is usually the favoured on this map, but Virtus.pro were simply unable to break through their opponents' defense, and so they dropped their first map of the series.

flamie topped the scoreboard for Na`Vi

Virtus.pro got off to a flying start on de_mirage on the back of a stunning pistol ace from Filip "NEO" Kubski, but Na`Vi picked themselves up and closed out the half up by 10-5. The Polish team then strung several rounds together during the early stages of the second half to put Na`Vi in danger of getting blown out.

With Virtus.pro getting just two rounds way from victory, Na`Vi took several rounds in a row to restore parity at 14-14. Then, a quad kill from Jarosław "pashaBiceps" Jarząbkowski put Virtus.pro on match point, but Na`Vi refused to throw in the towel and took the game to overtime, in which the Poles won four rounds straight to seal a 3-1 overall victory.

Nice! NEO was a monster on the final! Especially with that ace on the pistol round. Definitely the MVP of the tournament. Pasha was also crucial with that 1v4.

They were great plays but the amount of luck involved in them was so great. Communication errors on navis side, pushing smokes at the certain timings, edwards choke in connector? Tons of really uncharacteristic plays from Navi

remove pasha they said, without him they are just average and have 0 chance to win anything, he can play like a bot the all tournament, but when it matters he pulls out plays out of his ass that no1 else can, props to NEO as well, probably the best shape he ever had since he came to cs:go

Omg logic lol. There was only 3 EU teams so an American team had to be in the semi final. That's enough hltv for today I think

Meh c9 lost to the team who won the whole thing and gave quite a run for the money aswell, no shame in that. Looking fprward to see them in cologne.

Yep, C9 had a fantastic tournament. Losing to Mouz and VP doesn't matter when they had a though, competitive, well fought win against the mighty, tier 9 CLG who had a standin for their IGL. Loving their T side inferno by the way

this tournament actually had best opponents for vp to win it, c9(who they beaten 9 times in row) and navi, whom they beaten 6 out of 7 last times. even avoided mous, that beat them at gfinity but still congratulations! just wish they won something really big again, not these 30k lans with few top teams

I wonder why NaVi chose Overpass over Inferno. They could put more pressure on VP by going 2-2 before Mirage than having to win Mirage before going to Inferno. That's only mind game tho.

Fnatic decided not to participate because of a full summer schedule. They did not compete in the online tournament. NIP was supposed to show up but they cancelled their entry because of "last minute unforseen circumstances".

NaVi usually is losing to VP, thats why they get rekt 5-1. After all, thoorin said that navi is still better team, becouse they looks better against other teams. I don't get this, becouse NaVi can't win against fnatic (1win), tsm (0 this year), vp (1win bo1) and even c9. VP still wining almost every time against tsm, navi and c9, and they had better results against fnatic (2xbo3 wins). Also navi barelly can qual to the main event when there are quals or league like esl, faceit.
