The Acer Predator Masters will kick off on Thursday, with eight teams battling it four for a share of the $40,000 prize pool.

TaKeTV's new studio, in Krefeld, Germany, will play host to the offline finals of the first season of the Acer Predator Masters, where the top eight teams from the online portion of the league will duke it out for the first prize of $20,000.

The tournament will use a best-of-three, double-elimination format, with the grand final being a best-of-seven clash in which the team coming from the Upper Bracket has a one-map advantage.

cadiaN's SK Gaming will face KILLERFISH in the first round

It remains to be seen how teams will react to the prospect of playing a match that could take as long as seven hours, where players will be physically and mentally drained after a few maps.

Richard Lewis will be hosting the event, while Halvor "⁠vENdetta⁠" Gulestøl, Henry "⁠HenryG⁠" Greer, FACEIT's Daniel "ddk" Kapadia and Greatfrag's Rahim Abdullaev will be doing live commentary during the four days of the tournament.

Listen me out. He's definitely NOT the best caster, but have we ever actually seen people to be forced to listen to him on main stream? I'm sure a lot of people actually haven't heard him cast and he like 100% of the times I've heard him, solocasts which makes him boring in the long run, BUT now we have the chance to listen to him with some solid co-casters (ddk please) and he might actually step up and make the game REALLY FUCKING GOOD. I haven't watched him past year but I can't fucking wait, honestly.

People don't realize that Rahim will be way more serious at this LAN compared to online. He used to do that too in 1.6 sometimes if I remember it right. He might do a few "funny" things but it'll be a lot different from his solo Greatfrag casting so don't worry guys. Also, at taketv (Starcraft 2) they tend to ask a lot of the pros that attend to commentate the matches which will hopefully be the case there too.
