n!faculty to participate in ESWC Finals

German team n!faculty have been offered a place at the 2008 ESWC Finals.

After having finished third in the national qualifiers, behind mousesports and Team Alternate, it did not seem like n!faculty would be attending the 2008 ESWC Finals.

However, in what appears to be a turn of luck, the ESWC committee have offered an invitation to the EPS runners-up.

The decision is yet unexplained and remains a surprise but n!faculty will be pleased with the chance to participate.

N!faculty's roster includes:

Germany Christoph "chrizzo' Krämer
Germany Bastian "b4d" Gaffron
Germany Daniel "Frigh" Enderle
Germany Gerhard "gerdi" Grimm
Hungary Jérôme "shiddy" Tóth

I think it's the right thing not to invite MYM. If they would invite MYM every top team would be less motivated to participate in local qualifiers because there would be a chance they would get an invite anyway.

why they didnt play eswc poland? is it the problem of the eswc committee that mym was on kode5? or the problem that eswc poland was in same time with kode5? who's fault is it?i cant understand what u want. ofc mym shouldnt be invited. then lets invite all big teams. YEs it is rly big chance that mym will be invited but its not fair. To prevent stupid questions: defending champion is pentegram not mym. Its all about money.

#8 is right, man. They're not invitated as a defending champions only because of changing organisation just after their win. It's not like they should get invitation because they choosed KODE5 instead of Polish qualifiers while they would get them for sure. They SHOULD be invitated for only one little reason - they're actually champions, so if they won't attend San Jose, there will be no title-deffenders. Somekind of strange? :/

Pentagram are the defending champions, not MYM. You cannot let it follow the playerrs, imagine 2 players went to TeamX, 2 other players went to TeamY, and 1 retired, which team was now the defending champion? Only thing that makes sense is to tie it to the organization that won..

Ok ,but why is nifaculty invited?? "The decision is yet unexplained..." If i had good information Delta from Poland can't go to ESWC finals, so ESWC team should invite 3rd polish team or mYm :)

Sometimes tournaments are more exciting without "big names" where presenting level is a bit worse, but more balanced. I mean teams are on similar level, matches are square and obstinate ;)

Yeah, but behind mibr and mouz everybody were pretty close to each other, anyone could beat anyone. GameGune was a tournament with 3-4 World Classteams and the rest were just the step behind(except uX from Spain, lol.) Without mouz and mibr anyone could have won the tournament(except uX, again) That´s how I want a tournament to be :)

Yep, but don't blame uX, this team was a mix of GameGun's admins ;d About balance (except mibr & mouz) you're clearly right. I can give a sample of situation that happened in group B. There were 3 teams with 3 matches played (2 wins, 1 lose) and that was like FX beat HG 2 times a lost 1 time. wooSai won with FX 2 times and lost 1 time. I don't know what with HG, but propably similar situation, which was great for me! Such a close fight! ;d

Hehe, yeah it´s always fun to see when it´s so close :) Great sample, but how about Group E where all 4 teams ended on 4 points and almost all matches were really tight? ;)

If MYM cannot bother to show up at a qualifier I cannot see why they should be invited, then no top team would ever bother to qualify, because they'd just automatically be invited..

It has been said and for me it's weak argument. I can say the same about n!faculty. They can pass over next year's local qualify, because they'll be invited without any reason at all?

I gotta say imo EPS is a very strong league and most of the teams are very qualified, with one or two (maybe three) teams on the top of the world. So good to see n!f got invited and yet we do need a reason to make it professional. MYM are still good but I don't think they are as good as the team last year, the id's of the plays do butter the tournament up if they were in it. I think the popular tournaments like kode5, eswc, wcg or even GG will be nearly the same with the absence of just one GREAT team. The competition is so intense and close so no matter which of these team are playing, we will definite have a great time!

Totally agree with you. But you know.. it's always great to see mates from your country and the honest they're last year's champions - so the question would be "who will declass the title defenders?". As we know, nobody defended his last year's triumph.

defending champion...defending champion...u just know these 2 words. There is no defending champion. Defending champion is P-E-N-T-A-G-R-A-M. ANother organization couldn't be invited to defend title of the another team. Mym just could be invited as top5 team in the world. But not defending champion. Its so easy...
