USA, Canada to TWC finals
The United States and Canada have moved through the North American qualifier for the $100,000 World Championships courtesy of E-frag.net.
The third official qualifier for the $100,000 2015 World Championships, which will see 16 national teams receive all-expenses paid trips to the finals on October 8-11 in Belgrade, Serbia, took place in North America with three teams participating.
With both the Oceanic and South American qualifiers having already taken place, and each to the tune of a different format, the North American qualifier also introduced a new format which saw the three teams play double best-of-three matches to determine two teams that would advance.

In the end, Mexico found itself unable to qualify due to the might of its Anglo-Saxon North American counterparts, and the Mexican team only brought one best-of-three series against Canada to a close contest (which included its only won map of the qualifier).
Both series between Canada and the United States came down to the wire, with the teams fielding mixed rosters in between maps that also included players from the female scene.
With each national team picking up a series against each other and defeating Mexico, qualification for the offline finals was guaranteed. As a result, the four teams to have so far qualified for the 16-team World Championships are:
Australia |
Brazil |
Canada |
USA |
Qualifiers that remain to be played for the $100,000 World Championships include the African, Asian, and European qualifiers, with one, three, and eight teams to subsequently qualify for the finals respectively.
