NiP beat CLG, F3 thrashed by NV

The first pair of matches at ESL One Cologne have come to an end, with Ninjas in Pyjamas edging past CLG 16-13, while EnVyUs beat FlipSid3 Tactics 16-3.

The first match on the main ESL stream saw title hopefuls Ninjas in Pyjamas lock horns with CLG on de_dust2, with the Swedish giants starting out on the CT side of the map.

A perfect hold on the A site following a long push gave CLG the first round of the game, but the North American side were not able to hold on to their lead for long as they were stunned in the second anti-eco round while attempting to enter B.

Finally with guns in their hands, NiP's players took control of the proceedings and brought the scoreline to 6-3 thanks to some great rounds by Adam "friberg" Friberg, but their streak came to an end when Pujan "FNS" Mehta pulled off a triple kill during an A push. Rounds then went back and forth until the end of the half, with CLG taking a narrow 8-7 lead to the break.

NiP survived CLG scare

Now playing on the Terrorist side, NiP came out strongly and restored parity on eight rounds following an overrotation from CLG, who left the A side completely exposed. The Swedes followed it up with four more rounds, bringing the scoreline to 12-8, but then CLG overturned the deficit following a five-round streak, with James "hazed" Cobb finally stepping up.

CLG were now just three rounds away from victory, but NiP pulled themselves together in the dying stages and strung three rounds together to seal a 16-13 victory.

Right, they're only one of sixteen teams to make it to the major. What a bunch of baddies There is no doubt that f3 isn't top competition, but they are by no means as bad as you lot make them out to be

Wanted CLG to win so badly, loosing 3v5s. Typed something like "NiP waited for CLG mistake to get the advantage", and they were all like "stfu lagger it's nip magic", yea NiP magic almost loosing to top tier 2 team that made crucial mistakes. Waiting to see this magic against tier 1 teams xDD
