TSM, EnVyUs to Cologne playoffs

Team SoloMid and EnVyUs are through to the ESL One Cologne quarter-finals after beating Ninjas in Pyjamas and Luminosity Gaming, respectively.

The first pair of Upper Bracket final matches featured an exciting clash between Ninjas in Pyjamas and Team SoloMid, which surprisingly ended up being a one-sided game as Finn "karrigan" Andersen's men ran were far too hot to handle.

Starting off on the Terrorist side on de_cache, TSM got off to a fantastic start and won the opening three rounds of the game. A three-man stack from NiP in B proved fruitless in the first gun round as they fell like dominoes once the Danes entered the site.

TSM are through to the last-eight stage

NiP then found a lifeline in the sixth round as Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg and Adam "friberg" Friberg teamed up in B to stop TSM's rush, and it seemed for a while that Richard "Xizt" Landström's men would be able to get back into the game. However, NiP's economy was fragile, and when TSM once again started picking up rounds they were left with no money to work with.

With a 12-3 lead in the bag, TSM piled more misery on their opponents as they won the pistol round in convincing fashion and followed it up with three more rounds to send NiP straight to the Lower Bracket.

I don't think so, because LG was playing much more than EnVyUs, but to stop the team asked was ridiculous, fully cooled off the game. For me, was.. my opinion

LG really should have closed out that game. Would have been way more interesting to see a decider match like EnvyUs versus NiP, would be a great story that some bigger names has to fight it out early.

NiP just cannot soot people to death. They peak with advantage and cannot make easy shots. It is that simple. CS:GO is so random aim wise its not even fun.

You're right, it all came down to randomness that they lost 16-3.. It's the same conditions for all the teams.

#73 Aim wise CS:GO is miles away from what it should be. Hit boxes are just plain bad it has been proven on multiple occasions. But this is not why nip lost, nip lost because they are just plain bad at the moment. Their peaks are not covered they don't trade efficiently and over all their skill is lower then opponents at the moment. TSM didn't play amazing they played a very standartish counter-strike they just hit their shots. There wasn't anything amazing aim wise or tactic wise. Just good old routing CS where you play on your strengths which atm TSM is just consistency, meaning if they do 10rounds in the same manner out of 15 they wil win at least 5-8 of those 10 rounds based just on consistency.

Can someone please help me understand exactly how this post group stage thing is working? (not playoffs) If Im not mistaken, are the like 2nd and 3rd place teams from each group going to shuffle into two other groups? Is that how it is or something else? Thank you for whoever can help clarify!

if i'm not wrong, then upper bracket winner will play lower bracket winner tomorrow morning. Then the 3 'losers' from each group will be shuffled into 4 new groups, and the 4 groupwinners will go to quarterfinals on saturday
