rain: "Most of our game is on-the-fly"

We have interviewed Håvard "rain" Nygaard following Kinguin's intense victory over Cloud9, which sent the European mixture to the quarter-finals.

On day one in Cologne, Kinguin got off to a disappointing start, as they couldn't get into the match with Luminosity and fell down to the shuffled lower bracket.

There they met Immunity first, and for a while it looked like Kinguin would have to leave the competition early, but Mikail "⁠Maikelele⁠" Bill's team came back in the end and got a chance to fight for the quarter-finals spot with Cloud9.

The decider versus the Americans went all the way down to the wire, as rounds kept going back and forth, whether it was forcebuy rounds, ecos or full buys, but after all Kinguin secured the 16th round. Following their advancement to playoffs, we talked to Håvard "⁠rain⁠" Nygaard to get his point of view on his team's matches:

I agree, really cool guy, he says what he wants to say Unlinke olofm after the esl finals, the only thing he could say was 'I dont know what to say', whereas rain would probably say smth like 'we won our duels, thats why we won the tournament' :D

Made me laugh Loud with that sentence "i dont know what to say" by olof..its seems he get touched by the moment but if i was in his spot i would be really embarassed to only say "i dont know how to say(x5times) for me it was dumb as fuck in my opinion. Rain is really cool guy, style, smile, have confidence and i see in the interview that he THINKS, he uses his brain, have a giant soul. most, i see he is a really focused and confident person you can see that by his expression and eye movement. Not few words, he knows how to use words, i bet he read a lot! I love read!

More i can say that rain is very intuitive person, he has sharp intuiton. I just scroll down and see people said he dont talk to much, criticize is english and dont like his interview. For me good interview and english very good i can understand. Very inteligent guy. he his talking about team performance not about his private life. But What A fuck we are in hltv.org and in cs.go comunnity Its a bunch of kids and stupid ignorant people that dont know what life is about Let me tell you Action means more than Words and Rain actions are very secure. He really knows how to talk for audience.

Exactly! He immediately gets to the point which makes it easy for everyone to understand what he's trying to say, rain definitely knows what he's doing. c9 is not a top5 team for weeks now, they have lost to mousesports, virtus pro, tsm, fnatic and strugling against NA teams, its just like renegades, when other teams learn their style they cant do shit cause sgares is dumb

yes he is stupid, otherwhise renegades would be rekting tier 1 teams like the first time they appeared on the internation scene, luminosity on the other hand come in the major with another style and changed 1 player cause they have lost a bunch of games before it and beat convincingly kinguin, almost won envyus on cobble and beat flipsid3 in their best map with a improved team

told ya. on the fly vs TSM just ain't work. "no chance" like pasza said. they need to work on their executions and prepare. takes a ton of work together and someone who is willing to do this (like IGLs gob/seangares/karrigan etc do) the usual communication and calls, due to the language barrier, is just not sufficient!

anyone complaining about the english; it's perfectly comprehensible. If you're having trouble understand his english because of the accent, well good luck traveling the world, because this wasn't even a bad accent. Don't mistake his few words for bad english. He just doesn't talk much.

I kinda get the hate against Striker, then again his job is not the easiest. Most (not all) players seem very uncomfortable interviewed, which is probably because they have little to no mediatraining, and they are not talking their native language. I hate it when all the swedes say "I mean" three times per sentence, but come on give them (and striker) a break
