PENTA release stavros, crisby

PENTA Sports have announced that they have cut ties with Dimitrios "stavros" Smoilis and Christian "crisby" Schmitt.

The future of the German team had been thrown into doubt after they failed to qualify for ESL One Cologne as they finished 7th-8th at the offline qualifier for the major.

Initially, PENTA Sports had earned the right to attend the Cologne major, but after losing three of their players to mousesports they were forced to relinquish their spot in the Valve-sponsored competition.

stavros and crisby are now free agents

The German organisation has now announced via Twitter that they have parted ways with Dimitrios "⁠stavros⁠" Smoilis and Christian "⁠crisby⁠" Schmitt. No replacements for the duos have so far been announced, but PENTA were seen fielding KILLERFISH's Tahsin "⁠tahsiN⁠" Broschk and mousesports backup member Timo "⁠Spiidi⁠" Richter as stand-ins in CEVO Professional earlier on Monday.

PENTA currently have the following lineup:

Hendrik "⁠strux1⁠" Goetzendorff
Johannes "⁠tabseN⁠" Wodarz

there are many better players than gob b and denis in germany... the only good player mouz "stole" is nex now.

dude nobody is as good in calling as gob b the thing about denis is that he may not have the best aim but he has together with spiidi and krystal the best experience+he doesnt choke at majors

he can call as good as he wants, mouz can't threat top teams when they always have to play 4v5 on the server. since gob b has begun playing csgo again his individual skill hasn't improved that much. he would make a better coach for the team in my opinion.

I think they promised him since i think he knew he was just replacement for NiKo at cologne. (and to get the legendary spot)

he is pointing out that spiidi is still a sub for mousesports and the article says former mousesports member... Nothing has been said about spiidi leaving the org and that's what he is getting at

Tixo? he is really not good and he has 600 hours in csgo... i highly doubt that he even takes the game seriously. the only thing he has is his name, just like gob b and you see where that leads.

Tixo was amazing in 1.6, gob b was decent but just an IGL with tactical comprehence. Surely Tixo isn't the only former pro to make it back to GO?

exactly, Tixo was good in 1.6 but that doesn't make him automatically good in csgo, especially when he doesn't put the needed hours down. and no there aren't more former pros who make it back to csgo. barely anyone gave the game a chance so not many german 1.6 players switched to csgo.

Germany does not have a large pool to gather players from but in 1.6 and source they had it? The skill is there, the right support isn't. With a salary, motivation and the right amount of hours nothing is impossible.

tbh the german scene is fucked if you ask me. german players already get more support than they deserve with eps and 99dmg-league. the corruption in esl doesn't help either, most players who join the higher ranks in the league either cheated their way up or have connection to important people in the scene, either way they are bad players and that makes it hard for the real talents and ambitious players to rise up (kinda speaking of my own experience). "ambition" yeah, that's another topic. most players in the scene aren't really ambitious, they don't care about the int. scene or want to compete with it or even if, they are not ready to put the needed hours in, they just take the eps prize money as some little pocket money and are content. also when csgo came out the 1.6 scene died and the source scene took over the new german csgo scene and the source scene was anything but "professional", no comparison to the 1.6 scene where players had a whole different attitude to the game. i played both games over the years and while only a small portion of my 1.6 friends made the switch to csgo, basically all of my source friends switched to csgo. not saying it's the sourcers fault that the german scene is in a slump currently but in my opinion it's a part of the problem, the 1.6 scene was a lot more mature in my aspects. sry for the wall, just my 2 cents.
