CPH Wolves round out semi-finals

Copenhagen Wolves are the last team to secure a spot at the DreamHack Open London semi-finals after seeing off G2 16-11 on de_mirage.

G2 came out strongly in the match, winning the pistol round with ease and following it up with two anti-eco rounds to start off the game with a 3-0 lead. Ricardo "⁠fox⁠" Pacheco then went huge and single-handedly won the first gun round for his team as he picked up four kills in the A site.

It was expected that the former Kinguin team would further enlarge their lead but they were taken aback by an eco push from CPH Wolves, who finally managed to claim their first round of the game. With the scoreline 2-4, Joakim "⁠jkaem⁠" Myrbostad stole the show as he won a 1-vs-4 clutch by dropping a Molotov on top of the bomb, this way killing the G2 player who was defusing.

CPH Wolves went on to overturn the deficit to 5-4, but then G2 picked themselves up and won three rounds in a row to bring the scoreline to 7-5. However, some overaggressive rounds by Mikail "⁠Maikelele⁠" Bill's side allowed CPH Wolves to go into the break down by just one round (7-8).

In the second half, the Norwegian team came out with guns blazing and picked up six rounds in a row to secure a 13-8 lead. Maikelele then gave his team some breathing room with an ace, but G2 were unable to carry this momentum, which left their economy in shambles. With plenty of money and a considerable advantage to work with, CPH Wolves did not take long to hammer the final nail into G2's coffin.

good performance by twist but i hope people don't overhype him again now, that damages him more than it does good. the last 20 games i saw of him he wasn't good, he needs to bring some consistency.

Still less damaging than people spitting on him saying he is shit and overrated while he is a great player, just lacks experience. He could have been wrecking asses here and there by now if only had opportunities and didn't waste them.

"Soooo, i have a team that relies primarly on individual skill and bruteforces aim duels all over the map, over ingame reading and tactical gameplay... I can pick either d2 or mirage against a team led by zeves... mhm yeah, ill just veto d2 and play mirage." Honesly, like, HOW dumb can you be? It was a bo1, loser goes out and zeves teams are insanely good at playing mirage... like, really good. On the other hand, they had 'their" map to be picked.. Dust2, where they sent C9 packing on the last major... Were they actually trying to prove something with vetoing d2? Because if they did, it backfired pretty badly.. oh well, only themselves to blame.. On the other hand, fox is getting more and more impactful on kinguins gameplay as the day goes(not that he wasn't before, because he actually was.. he just wasn't that much into the so called "fire-zone") by and that's pretty good, reminding us of his k1ck gameplay where he could so pretty much whatever he wanted to in terms of picks and ct-side awp entrys(which he's insanely good at).. The way they're letting fox play with more freedom really is the way to go for them. Now they just need to actually learn how to veto properly and well, get consistent in terms of gameplay as a whole, because that's what makes a good team an actual TOP tier team. They can't keep relying on individual gameplay, aim-duels and such.. because you NEED a plan B, scream and rain wont be hitting 30bombs every single map and you need to know "how to WIN" when their aim isn't on "point". And yes, i like fox gameplay when he's playing HIS role, but im not a retard fanboy, as you can see, im pretty sure im one of the only guys around this world who enjoys both fox and lurppis at the same time!!!("OMG TRAITOR") Because yes, as rude as he might sound sometimes, lurppis was definitely one of the best ingame leaders that the Counter-Strike game has ever seen.(out of topic, i know, but i had to!)
