Playoff time at ESWC 2008

The second group stage at ESWC 2008 Grand Finals ended with a boom as mTw for the first time ever beat MYM, when both advanced from their group.

Its celebration for mTw and the Danish eSport enthusiast as mTw for the first time ever beat MYM. The Danish squad had to beat the Polish team to advance, as they lost a close match to the Americans from x3o. The match did however not start in favor of mTw. Neo showing some insane 1v2 action in the pistol-round, might have given mTw flashbacks from the 2007 Grand Finals. mTw did however regain strength and came back from 0:5 to 9:6. Once again mTw lost the pistol round and had to eco. They did win the 4th round can continued coming close to victory. With just one round to go, mTw started giving away rounds again. MYM could sneak up on the Danes, but mTw did manage to shut the door before it was too late, and secured a 16:10 victory.

This brings us to the coming quarter-finals, being played best of three maps, single elimination. The quarter-finals will start 10:00 local / 19:00 CET.

coz x30 and pro100 did not win rounds as much as mym did.. accndg to eswc rules.. if therez a tie break between 2 or more teams..only the team which has won the maximum rounds advances further.

Look at group C (Group Stage 2). x3o has +11, mTw +13, and mYm +8. So mTw and x3o going to quarterfinal.

Hm...that's interesting again. They had 3 tied teams (2-1) in 2 groups. I want to know how they decided who advances!? Nix0n? I see some strange decisions. Plz explain.

I hope this can help you. If we take mTw's group. Then the round score looks like this: 1. mTw (16-10, 16-7, 14-16 = +13) 2. MYM (16-10, 16-8, 10-16 = +8) 3. x3o (16-14, 16-1, 10-16 = +11) 4. MoB (7-16, 8-16, 1-16 = -32) As you can see, x3o have a better round score then mYm, but as you know, x3o is out. And here is the rules there decides that. a) Higher number of points obtained in all the group matches; b) Higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the remaining tied participants; c) Higher score difference obtained in the match played among the remaining tied participants; As I marked out, then the round score will be counted out from the matches between the tied teams. So MoBs games doesn't count here. So now the round score look like this: 1. mTw (14-16, 16-10) = + 5 2. MYM (10-16, 16-10) = 0 3. x3o (10-16, 16-14) = -4 That is why mYm go trough to the play-offs and x3o is out. And in the last group, there aren't any fishy there, but I will past the round score as well. Normal emL (11-16) (16-6) (16-3) +18 Alt (16-11) (16-14) (12-16) +3 Pro (16-11) (6-16) (16-12) -1 Dig (11-16) (14-16) (3-16) -20 ESWC way emL (11-16) (16-6) +5 Alt (16-11) (12-16) +1 Pro (6-16) (16-12) -6

Virtus pro had the same 6pts as Eml and Alernate but this time arbiters counted +- round stats even if they didn't allowed teams to play full 30 round matches...
