Red Dot qualifier teams announced

OGamingTV has revealed the list of participants for the closed qualifier for the Red Dot Invitational.

Last week, OGamingTV, a French web TV company, announced its own Counter-Strike tournament, called the Red Dot Invitational, featuring eight teams and a $50,000 prize pool.

Six teams will receive direct invitations to play in this tournament, while the remaining two spots will be filled through a closed online qualifier for eight teams. The top four sides of the Red Dot Invitational will travel to France to contest the title at a famous Paris theater on January 12.

Vexed to face GreyFace in the first round

Running from November 15-23, the qualifier will kick off with a best-of-one, double-elimination group stage, with the top two sides from each group advancing to the best-of-three semi-finals.

The biggest talking point about the group stage will be the presence of Australian side Legacy eSports, who will be bootcamping in Sweden ahead of the FACEIT League Stage 3 finals, at DreamHack Winter.

Below you can find the group draw for the qualifier in full:

Group A Group B
Poland Vexed Bulgaria E-frag
Denmark SK Gaming Germany PENTA Sports
France LDLC Blue France Deadpixels
Sweden GreyFace Australia Legacy

50k for these teams is really nice compared to tournaments like the last dreamhack summer which had 40k for teams like nip, fnatic, navi etc

lol legacy is there? So they'll basicly stay a bit longer in europe? I know they qualified for FACEIT finals, but this makes only sence if they decided to stay for like a month or more... anyone more insider knowledge about the matter?

The Red Dot Qualifier begins on the 15th of November and the FaceIt Finals begins on the 26th. As far as I knew they will only be in Europe bootcamping around these dates and if they qualify for Red Dot Finals they'll fly over from Aus for the 12th of January.

For anybody not aware: the ESL ESEA Pro League Finals will take place at the same time as the Finals for the Red Dot League. This is why there are only going to be six invites for the Red Dot finals.

I doubt e-frag will go to this if they make it through, they will most likely qualify for APM s2 which takes place in 7-10 January and they have a very good chance of qualifying for Starseries XIV and it takes place 13-17 January
