Chinese veterans Bin "Savage" Liu and BingYuan "tb" Li have returned to professional competitions in a new lineup under the CyberZen banner where they'll team up with three former QeeYou members.

Both Bin "⁠Savage⁠" Liu and BingYuan "⁠tb⁠" Li hung up their mice shortly after CS:GO came out, as their long-time TyLoo team switched to the new game version in early 2013, which the two refused to play.

In April of this year, both players announced their comeback to competitive play after joining the pow lineup, but we didn't see much of them outside of Asia.

Savage joins his 1.6 TyLoo teammate tb in CyberZen

The 1.6 veterans have now been announced as players of a newly formed squad under the name CyberZen where they will join up with three former members of the now disbanded QeeYou - WeiJie "⁠zhokiNg⁠" Zhong, Zhuo "⁠advent⁠" Liang and ZhiHong "⁠aumaN⁠" Liu.

HLTV.org learned that CyberZen will have their own training place and will receive a salary.

"We love CS, Savage and I, we cannot give it up, so we decided to come back to be professional players.

There is no doubt that CS:GO will be the future trend. It is essential to create a strong team in China. In the short term we want to reach the top of Asia. After that we want to show Chinese teams' strength in the world stage," tb said in a statement to HLTV.org

When asked about upcoming tournaments for the team, tb highlighted the Chinese division of StarLadder i-League, the recently announced Iceberg Pro League and Fulcrum Gamers League, and the Chinese ESWC qualifier.

CyberZen boast the following lineup:

If you know just a little bit about football, you know that achievements is the most important thing, achievements will never get to old, achievements make idols and most important, achievements make legends, achievements specially old achievements gives you hope for the future, when your favourite team havent won anything in looooong, but you dont just drop your favourite team because they Are shit, you keep supporting them because of achievements Who become history and gives you legends and then you never loose hope... old achievements of cs 1.6 gave us a biiiiig history and the biggest memorys and real legends Where born - the achievements of cs 1.6 saved whole the cs.go from a big faillure... People remembered the history and achievements from cs 1.6 and kept pushing cs.go in the real direction and BOOM 200 UPDATES later and finally you see the same amout of active players in cs.go as 1.6... so achievements from the oldschool game 1.6 gave us memorys, legends and a future With cs.go... sorry for my baaaad english

That's not a very relevant metric. By "often", I meant percentage-wise when they played EU teams. They only joined the scene later on and the scene only started expanding a bit towards the demise of 1.6, so of course they're not going to have many "total" wins which is what you linked to. And "often" is a vague term. Like, you could say TSM "often" loses to teams worse than them. Doesn't mean on average they do.

If you're referring to the first statement about wnv being the best team world at a certain time, they were arguably the best team, yes. And Thorin agrees. If you're referring to the second part, I said that "often" is a vague term. I'm not saying they won "most" matches against EU teams. See my last comment where I said "often" meaning the percentage of wins vs. EU teams when they played.

Yep, Moriaty and Reaction formed Puzzle iirc. This team looks a lot better though, Zhoking is a beast and they've got the old tyloo guys now, could go really well.

ye zhoking seemed pretty good the last time i saw him play, was a while ago though. Would be nice to see more of the asian scene getting more involved with csgo internationally so im hoping they at least come to the lan qualifier for the next major.

It's a possibility, sadly someone from that region will need to break through with how it is now before orgs are willing to invest money into their scene and cover their travel expenses.

Yup, Skyred were close and Qeeyou had 1 or 2 wins over EU (albeit weak EU teams) teams at LAN, but they will deffo need a mega performance at a lan soon (perhaps ESWC?). However if a team's gonna do it it'll be these guys I reckon.

honestly they probably just need to make semis or a final to get a mild interest from smaller orgs. Maybe it will grow the scene over there when other people see that a team is competing in europe/overseas and getting results.

True but the fact that solo was forced to go into the army in his prime is a damn shame. He was one of the biggest 1.6 talents that didn't really have a chance to play beyond a certain point due to his location, but he was damn good and I would love to see what he'd be like in CS today.

they are quite bad in csgo, dont expect too much from cyberzen =)

If you're amazing at 1.6, you can get good at GO with practice. Also China always had a bunch of sick aimers. CSGO is more about raw aim than 1.6, arguably.

markeloff was g8 in cs1.6, same as bondik and gob b. The fact is that new talents are better than most of those old 1.6er. CyberZEN is most likely to be 3rd or 4th best team or even worst in China. TyLoo is unarguably the best team, follow by puzzle(now known as KKTV). TB got 3000+ csgo playing time, as well as savage, I played with some of their players before, the whole CyberZEN are extremely lack of individual skill, especially advent, aumaN and savage. Their skill ceilline i believe is Tier2 in asia.
