fnatic win FACEIT Stage 3 Finals
fnatic have won FACEIT Stage 3 Finals hosted by DreamHack Open Winter following a 2-1 victory over Luminosity (de_train 9-16, de_cbble 16-11, de_inferno 16-7), earning them a $100,000 cheque along with the trophy.
The grand final of FACEIT Stage 3 Finals started out on fnatic's pick, de_train, where their opponents from Brazil got to a huge 5-0 start despite being on the usually less-favored T side.
fnatic did get on board right afterwards with a solid defence on the A bombsite, but it was only good for two rounds in a row as Luminosity took two of their own in return. fnatic then took out the double-AWP setup and again made sure two following rounds went their way before the teams split two more to get to 8-5.
Luminosity felt the need to forcebuy as opposed to saving for the last round, but it didn't work out at all, as they had to forcebuy in the next round yet again to forfeit the last two rounds for a one-round lead.
Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo then stepped up for his team with a headshot-filled 1-on-2 in a very exposed position, and Luminosity had little to no trouble taking the following anti-eco before fnatic bought up. That first gunround was nearly the only round fnatic were able to snatch in the remainder of map one, as Epitacio "TACO" de Melo's stop sign on B ramp and Luminosity's unlikely retake on A in two other gunrounds gave them de_train at 16-9.

The Cinderella story ended with a twist
The Brazilian's pick de_cbble followed and the same side yet again got a one-sided pistol round going their way, although fnatic's forcebuy stopped it in its tracks with a double one-shot from Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer's deagle, opening up B site.
fnatic had no trouble fighting off the anti-ecos that followed, and found a way through Luminosity's stack on the B bombsite in the first gunround for a 5-4 lead. That was soon extended to 7-4, while Fernando "fer" Alvarenga managed to save an AWP and kill all four opposing players who tried to deny his chances.
Nothing went Luminosity's way up until 9-4, when they finally found that the best defense is an offense and wrecked fnatic before they could even come to them on B long for 9-6.
fnatic getting a pistol rocketed them to 13-6, right after Robin "flusha" Rönnquist won a 1-on-1 by the skin of his teeth, as time ran out less than half a second prior to his death. Luminosity managed to fight back for three rounds in a row, including an eco on the Swedish side, for one for fnatic and the scoreline showed 14-9 on map two.
Lincoln "fnx" Lau's all-important 1-on-2 pushed his team to 11-14 as fnatic had to go on an eco again, but flusha's squad didn't leave any more room to their opponents and evened the series at 16-11, 1-1.

fnatic clung onto the grand final on de_cbble
Once again, the third map was set to be de_inferno, where Luminosity won their fourth pistol round of the grand final on the Counter-Terrorist side after fnatic chose Terrorists after winning the knife round, surprisingly enough. That earned the Brazilians a 3-0 lead towards the beginning, despite a saved M4A4 from Jesper "JW" Wecksell, with which Dennis "dennis" Edman scored a quad-kill without armor.
In the first gunround, olofmeister's flank double opened up the A site and fnatic found a way into the map early on, and followed it up with five more rounds in a row, including two ecos. A read by fnatic allowed them to overpower B site, which was only held by FalleN and his AWP, and a split B afterwards pushed the scoreline to 9-3 in fnatic's favor.
Luminosity finally found a way to defend fnatic's attacks and took all three remaining rounds before switching over to Terrorists. After fnatic won the second pistol, FalleN's team soon started to have a peak into the barrel, as their three-man fake was obliterated on B site.
fnatic got on a roll afterwards and despite nearly every round being close, their opponents couldn't make a real dent in their defense up until 14-6. olofmeister's 1-on-1 clutch pushed his team to the match point line, which was crossed a round afterwards as Marcelo "coldzera" David was unable to win a 1-on-3 on the B bombsite.
