mTw have unveiled the third member of their CS:GO squad in the form of Alexander "ave" Holdt.

The 27-year-old retired from gaming in August 2011 to focus on his studies following an impressive career that saw him win several international titles with mTw's famous Danish squad.

Alexander "⁠ave⁠" Holdt has now decided to try his luck in CS:GO and reunite with Oliver "⁠minet⁠" Minet and Christoffer "⁠Sunde⁠" Sunde - the other two players confirmed so far - as mTw look to bring back the old team, who dominated the scene back in 2008.

ave joins mTw

The final two players will be revealed by mTw before the end of the year, with many hoping that Danny "⁠zonic⁠" Sørensen, who is currently coaching dignitas, will be one of them.

mTw currently have the following three-man roster:

Didnt G2 16-0 Virtus.Pro recently on cache? The point is teams get 16-0'd all the time, even tier1 teams (which I consider Luminosity and VP), tier2 and tier3 teams will get 16-0 more often. mTw can play together fulltime for 2 years and they will still get 16-0'd by teams.

It's never too late. They already have lots of teamplay experience at top level. All they need to work on is the movement and nades and spray patterns which can be learned really quick if youre talented. You realize some ppl who play 'pro' started playing CS like 1-2 year ago right? SO I doubt it would be that hard for people who played years of PRO CS lol

You talk like an absolute silver from /r/globaloffensive Rofl name me pros who have only played the game for 1-2 years. It's not just learning "spray patterns" and "movement", you need skill. And no you wont get good at the game by joining a private server and learning spray patters, you play 4-5000k hrs like the other pros. You are fucking naive if you think they have a chance. Remember go and 1.6 are totally different games. In go you need firepower more than anything, which the entire mTw lineup will lack heavily.

Dude.. 1- Im global and also quit competitive cs in 2007 and used to be pretty skilled back then too. I can still hold my own and rape globals and esea pugs and I barely play the game I mostly trade skins and watch games and hltv.org 2- they are skilled rofl they are ex pros u retard. 3- They have more chance at getting pro than you do so maybe you should just quit the game now... 4- 1.6 and GO are different games but not so different. I mean most pros have pro background in 1.6 or source. 5- Stewie2k might not be what we can consider 'pro' now but the guy plays at a high level and played the game for 1 year apparently. So I really doubt Ex players who were on top 3 team back then will have a hard time learning the game. It won't be hard for them to learn or anything

How is it hard to believe given former TSM basically chokes now everytime they get near a finals. The former mTw guys crushed in 1.6 on a level above SK and fnatic at one point so it's not farfetched to think the Danish scene may see a minor shuffle.

If anything, it's the exact opposite of what you wrote. These guys have been playing together for so long so the chemistry is there. These guys know eachother very, very well. That's their strength and a way of compensating for their lack of individual skill. Other than that, I agree.

Yeah. Im really looking forward to this, some ppl tend to forget that eventhough they have been away, you just don't shut down their winning mentality + they know eachother very well so the chance of them splitting up quickly probaly isn't very high. It's just a matter of dedication and pracc. Though im not saying they will rape from the get go, but i would say they could be a real contender within 6 month to a year. Hopefully zonic will be back active again, but nomatter what ppl can't deny, this is a bunch of talented players :)

yes within 6 month to 1 year. They players have experience and we know they are dedicated. Im pretty sure they have played csgo before theres talk about a team was up in the air. And don't underestimate how much 6 month can do for them, there are so many qualifiers and not-major that they will have enough games to play. Im just not throwing them under the bus before i've seen how deidcated and serious they are :)

Smokes and nades in general wasnt as important as in CSGO, the teamplay was less, you could basically rush a site and out aim people. Good players could win matches on their own, you can see that in csgo too but not on the same scale. but i agree with the first thing u wrote, if they dont have played alot of csgo lately its gonna be hard making an impact.

I agree to a certain amount. But CS:GO is alot more offensive as CT - peaking to get info and doing unexpected plays -that is what the pro teams do today. 1.6 was alot more defensive as CT- waiting and counter flash etc. Here the offensive individual plays becomes more important - a good entryfragger( As t and CT) means more in cs:go than it did in 1.6

Your words are nice, but the reality is totally different, you are wrong as fuck. They had/have? talent, of course, as every single 1.6 team who were on top 10, or lets say top 5 if you prefer. Now they were inactive for few years, which gives enormous difference between them to any other top csgo team. NiP had 87:0? NiP was the first team to change to csgo, where navi, vp, etc still played cs 1.6 thinking about retirement (1.6 was dying), then cs:go became better and better, most of 1.6 pros switched to cs:go and to reach NiP level, they needed many months. Now we have dozens of brand new talened players, best cs source players, best 1.6 players, who are playing for like 3 years. And all of them are same or more talented than ave or Sunde. .. I wish mTw, and specially those players the best, I loved mTw, but surely they won't win anything in the near future, and it doesn't mean anything bad, it's just reality...

think about it this way. This team, these players were better then all of them. Sunde was one of the best awp' players in the world. zonic WAS the best player in the world, more than once. All you guys jumping to conclusions need to remember that no one thought teams like NaVi and VP would be able to make the transition to GO and achieve anything. Now they are both top 5 in the world. It remains to be seen how serious this mTw team will take it, but the potential is there.
