DH Open Leipzig with $100,000 purse

DreamHack has announced that the upcoming Open event in Leipzig will have a prize fund of $100,000.

DreamHack's 2016 circuit will kick off with the Swedish company's very first event on German soil, to be held at the Leipzig Trade Fair from January 22-24.

Six spots in the tournament will be filled through invites, one of which will go to a German team, while the remaining two places will be determined by online qualifiers.

The $100,000 prize pool - more than double the $40,000 that were at stake at this year's Open events that had no involvement with the FACEIT League Finals and the major in Cluj-Napoca - highlights DreamHack's commitment to Counter-Strike for 2016.

Leipzig Trade Fair to host the German event

DH Open Leipzig will kick off with a double-elimination group stage, with a mixture of best-of-one and best-of-three maps, leading up to the best-of-three, single-elimination playoffs.

More information about the online qualifiers will be released shortly by DreamHack. Tickets for the German event can be purchased here.

I'm not speaking of all of east germany after this, just to clarify things. East germany was the DDR once and "belonged" to the soviets. The DDR was economically far behind the western part, that's why many eastern cities look like shit. Another reason is, that the soviets tore down "monuments of capitalism" such as the Berlin castle. Conclusion: Cities look like shit People there are a little different, east germany is the "poor" (well at least compared to the western germany) part of Germany. Wayyyy more people without a job so there is more racism and poverty. People tend to be aggressive sometimes, at least a few, and desperately search for a reason to get into trouble. Conclusion: People sometimes are some kinda rednecks and more nationalistic This sounds like east germany is horrible lol. Isn't as bad as it sounds but I have prejudices as a "wessi" :D
