fnatic over SK 2-1; to FBM final

fnatic will get a re-match with NiP in the grand final of Fragbite Masters Season 5 Finals following a 2-1 victory over SK Gaming in the consolidation final (de_overpass 12-16, de_inferno 16-5, de_mirage 16-6).

Following yesterday's surprising results with SK edging out Question Mark, while NiP sent fnatic to the consolidation final, it was time for SK and fnatic to fight for the grand final spot.

First map of the series was set to be de_overpass, picked by the mostly-Danish lineup, who also got to a flying 4-0 start off of Emil "Magisk" Reif's triple in the pistol round and a saved 2-on-2 afterplant as Terrorists. fnatic barely survived another 3-on-3 afterplant to get on the board with three in a row, failing to create an economical cushion for themselves as all of the rounds ended up with one to two players surviving.

When fnatic finally did get some economy going with Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson picking up five with a mac10 to tie it up at 4-4, Michael "Friis" Jørgensen immediately destroyed it thanks to an AWP triple on A. fnatic kept ignoring their flanks, while SK kept using that to their advantage to take four more and make it 9-4.

MODDII's new team was firing on all cylinders on de_overpass

A timeout on fnatic's side did them some good as the remainder of the half went their way, only for SK to pick up the second pistol round as well one-sidedly to set themselves up at 12-6. fnatic had to save three guns afterwards following Casper "cadiaN" Møller's double entry on B, and the Swedes were staring down the barrel at 14-6.

Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer's quad-kill and a big save versus Magisk, who barely lost a 1-on-3, was quickly negated by another close clutch situation, as SK picked up map point. It wasn't over anywhere near as quickly as many might have thought considering fnatic's very low buy though.

fnatic kept defending and turned close situations around, including a 3-on-3 and a 4-on-4 afterplant, but finally SK closed things out at 16-12 as KRIMZ's quad-kill in an unfavorable situation wasn't enough to turn the tides.

A third pistol round in the series went also to SK, this time as Counter-Terrorists on de_inferno, to get to a quick 2-0 lead. Robin "flusha" Rönnquist's triple on A on round three set of a streak for his team though, but a good read from SK evened it out at 3-3. olofmeister then pushed fnatic to a 5-3 lead thanks to a 1-on-3 clutch as SK sat in the wrong bombsite and left him room to play with.

fnatic didn't wait around for SK to show up and took the fight to them with quick strategies towards the A bombsite, and had no trouble turning them into round wins over and over. SK only got two in between before the first half was over, as fnatic switched to Counter-Terrorists with a solid 10-5 lead.

KRIMZ continued with his superb performance throughout the tournament

Finally they also took a pistol round for themselves and survived a 3-on-5 against a forcebuy thanks to flusha's P90 on the B bombsite, and kept defending on an on until KRIMZ pushed them to 16-5 in a 1-on-1 with Asger "AcilioN" Larsen

The series was decided on de_mirage, this time with fnatic on the Counter-Terrorist side initially, who also got the pistol round after a retake on the A bombsite. Magisk's high-risk-high-reward play in the last 10 seconds in a 1-on-1 paid off in the first gunround, which pushed SK to a 3-2 lead.

fnatic took it back soon afterwards before AcilioN clutched a 1-on-3 for 5-4, but the Swedes didn't get rattled by that at all and continued with three more on the CT side for 8-4. Another clutch situation was won by Friis and his all-important incendiary grenade that landed on the bomb, but yet again his team couldn't make more happen as fnatic stormed onto their Terrorist side with a 10-5 scoreline.

A solid defence by SK closed the gap to four, only for fnatic to pull back once more in the following forcebuy and an eco thrown in for 12-6. Surprisingly enough, a nearly-clean eco looked like it was going the Danes' way, although this time the clutch belonged to flusha, who won it with great positional play and got a 1-on-5 to his name. From there on it was all she wrote for SK, as fnatic closed the series out at 16-6 after only three more rounds.

Yeah theyre looking for an NA team. Could possibly buy out LG is a theory i've heard or a tier 3 NA team although LG is a long-shot they'll end up with a bum team and become irrelevant in the cs scene

Just look at the flusha's 1v5, KRIMZ and olof's unreal frags and you'll understand what I'm talking about. Overpass was SK's pick and they were wrecking Fnatic
