Jake "Stewie2k" Yip has announced via Twitter that he has stepped down from SPLYCE's active roster.

The 17-year old had been expected to leave SPLYCE after missing the qualifier for the Americas Minor, in which the team finished 9th-12th with Mitch "⁠DUM0RE⁠" Green as a stand-in.

Jake "⁠Stewie2K⁠" Yip's departure represents as a major blow to SPLYCE's aspirations as he is widely regarded as one of the hottest prospects in North America. He played a key role in SPLYCE's semi-final run at Northern Arena but was unable to guide the team into the ESL ESEA Pro League as they were defeated by Method in the relegation stage.

stewie2k says that "a new home awaits"

In a Twitlonger post, Stewie2K stated that "a new home awaits", suggesting that he is leaving of his own free will and that he is about to take the next step in his development.

SPLYCE now have the following four-man roster:

you don't know the pressure because you have never felt the pressure. EVERY pro player does not play to his full potential when he goes to his first pro lan. EVERYONE. the pressure isn't being on stream an it never has, the pressure is playing in front of a live audience and know that if you disappoint your teammates there going to be right there to notice.

no he's not, at the time where he was playing with Skadoodle they were both playing as trials. Freakazoid did shit and said he was playing on a Laptop with 40-60 fps. Cloud9 just took the chance and signed him and gave him a free beast gaming PC. Also over Freak's time in C9 he has improved alot but many belive that Stewie2k could of improved more than him. Personally I think he's joining CLG, but could join C9 and nothing will be like a Happy IGL or Stunna would be IGL.

DUM0RE is probably going to join SPLYCE for real. I asked him about his plans in 2016, and he said he was going to join a team but he wouldn't say which team. And as for Stewie, C9 or CLG would be worth a try. I could see him improving with experience and better teammates

If you watch his interview he says he started playing ESEA in summer 2014, we are in the end of 2015. That means he even started earlier, he is probably playing the game for like 2 years, if not more given that he has 4.2k hours. edit: He started playing in the summer of 2014, and started ESEA in October 2014.

That's debatable, I mean coldzera can be better than s1mple and niko imho aswell. KennyS, even tho he was in a slump, he is still amazing with the awp and rifles. Krimz and karrigan are really underrated, trust me on this, they are better than niko, but if you put niko on a team at a level of tsm/fnatic, he will become way better. Let's just say they are all amazing players and at given day some can be better than others xD

he didn't do badly on his 2nd LAN overall, only on his 1st LAN against Winterfox and CLG Red he was subpar. And the game against CLG Red was a blowout in his team's favor so his stats didn't really matter. And have you followed FPL at all? I realize it's just 10 mans, but he's raping in that league and is constantly ranked top 1-3. That must mean something to professional teams.

ranking is based on wins not individual performance.. therefore the ranking is moot at best (even when he does do well other pros say he baits, does gimmicky plays, etc.) I'm not the kind of person to base shit on stats, look at how he handled splyce, how he interacts with other pros in FPL (whether he is trolling or not, he is constantly talking trash) and if you watch the way he plays he is pretty braindead.... but hey, if na wants to make another useless roster and waste time and money on a bunch of shit tier players, be my guest lol ill continue to root for na teams that actually have a chance of winning a bo3 against tier2 euro teams thank you. The fact that he publicly said "I let Steel down" at that first LAN and also even submitted his own demo for review to Steel, shows to me he's probably not cocky in reality and/or doesn't let his ego hinder himself from improving as a player.

I don't think you understand what I'm saying. I'm saying the NA FPL must mean something to NA professional teams, not to me, or you or EU pro teams. Of COURSE EU FPL is by far better than NA, but NA pro teams can't realistically recruit top talent from EU can they? No course not. Regardless of whether you or I find NA FPL as a valid gauge of talent, it's evident that NA pro teams do (Sick going to coL for example). Also stop w/ the stupid racist jokes which aren't even funny.
