Hiko: "allu not joining Liquid"

Aleksi "allu" Jalli will not join Team Liquid on a permanent basis, Spencer "Hiko" Martin has revealed.

The Finnish player, who is a currently a free agent following his departure from Ninjas in Pyjamas, tried out for Liquid last week in the North American qualifier for ELEAGUE Road to Las Vegas, in which the team were eliminated in the first round after being defeated by Dogmen.

On his stream, Spencer "⁠Hiko⁠" Martin revealed that Liquid were looking to bring Aleksi "⁠allu⁠" Jalli and his girlfriend to North America by "late January, early February at the latest", but then the Finnish player told the team that he had other plans.

allu turned down Team Liquid

Hiko added that Liquid are still looking for a new player, with the situation of Jacob "⁠FugLy⁠" Medina, who has played for Cloud9 and CLG as a stand-in in the last week, remaining unclear.

"We don't know who we are going to use yet, we are looking at our options," Martin said.

"It seemed like even if we were the best team in the world, he [allu] did not want to move to North America."

It's not impossible if the team can commit to play full time with a stable roster for long enough. Allu is (in my mind & opinion) very likely to join roccat at least for now esp. when they went full time. Isn't it the first time a finnish team is committing full time to cs as well? And no, they're not going to immediately get good results and hop into tier1, I'm not saying that. But at least they have a solid base to improve on now that they don't have to work elsewhere and train at the same time.

allu to G2, G2 -> top 7 consistently with the potential of winning some events (1 or 2 annually) with decent prize money. Nowadays, every benign top 7 team is capable winning event where not all top 5 teams are competing, so pretty promising opportunity for allu imho...
